First thing I would have done when I heard him talk #$%* is enabled the recording feature on my phone... then kept walking. There is no reason to risk you lady friend unless she is into that. If you like that area, think for the most part its still safe and would still like to walk it I suggest getting your conceal and carry permit and a gun. Then its a matter of practicing with your weapon and taking classes to handle it properly. The goal is still to walk away in the situation but if they ever decide to persue you there is no reason to chance it.

I love hitting things but never really enjoyed being hit..

Walk away when you can, beat them down so hard they can't get up and continue fighting when you can't.

couldn't have said it better myself.

Local cops know me by name around here.

Ass whoppin's are free, and being a major distributor I would have given them all two for the price of one.

So how are things going over there at ass whoopin INC?

I have only delt with a situation like this a couple times...first time was a pair of drunks who mistook me for a full blood native (I am metis and look like a full blood when tanned so i can see why.) Initially i didnt care what they said and pretty much ignored it...then they made the mistake of making the first move...first guy got a broken arm and jaw for his trouble..he came at me with a bottle from behind..spotted it in the reflection of the car door window just as i was opening it..moved to the side..caught him with a right hook and slammed the door on his forearm hard enough to hear it break...second one got all balsy at that when he seen his buddy was down..so he had to try to defend his bud...yea that didnt go so well...kick to the knee...pull the door open this time catching him in the head as he went down...Game over....funny enough cops pulled up at the last part of it so it wasnt hard to explain the mess...

Second situation was a lil more recent...a drunk native was hassling me for cash....once again ignored it...then he made the error of grabbing my left shoulder...im pretty sure he did not know what hit him because i spun on my heel and gave him a right cross before even really thinking on it...

Point being is you never know just what you are dealing with....could be a push over...or it could be an armed person..or someone trained in martial arts...so when you can..walk...when you cant...be ready to lay down an ass kickin...

I posted a while back about the girl that kept goading my sister on, wanting to fight. Just as all you ol'timers are suggesting, she let it go as far as it could until the girl made the move, then my sister beat her down. Being a bully is one thing, defending yourself and pounding the hell out of 'em is another. I guarantee the girl won't mess with her again, and neither will anyone else in the school.

Your vocabulary suggests you have experience with boxing (right cross, right hook).  Another thing I like about your story is that when the time came, you didn't mess around with jibber-jabber.  Like I mentioned, if my situation had escalated, I wouldn't have talked #$%* to them.  Pitbulls don't talk.  Learn from the animals, I say.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us.
