Okay, so I had a HELL of a time getting my cables to fit, and I think it's because of the pull cable having two nuts. Do they both go on one side of the bracket? Or one on each? With one on each, the push cable won't reach, with both on one side, they reach. My dad mentioned it to me that it might be a double nut to make extra sure they don't fall off, I had never heard of this before, is it right? Please say yes because I want to sync my carbs and get back on the road!

If I understand your question correctly, we're talking about where the cables attach to the bracket on the carbuetors. On my '77 CB750 K, there is one nut on either side of the bracket so that the nuts are locked down and locked in both directions.

If it doesn't fit that way, did you re-route the cables in any way? I can't remember if the online manuals are the official Honda shop manuals, but if they are, they'll show in the general information how to route the cables per factory spec.

You understand correctly, but the routing isn't the problem. My pull cable fits just fine, with the nuts on either side or on one side. But the push cable doesn't. There's a good centimeter or so of space the T head thingy won't fit into the designated spot. Sorry I don't have a picture, but if someone has taken them off and put them back on they know what I mean, haha. I can pull all I want on it but I can't get enough slack to reach. I know I got the right cable, and it reaches if I use both nuts on the pull cable on the same side of the bracket.

Could having both nuts on one side have any negative affect on it? If not I'll just leave it like that, since it seems to work and won't the other way.

with both cables fitted in their respective slots in the throttle housing, and the cable nuts backed all the way off, twist the throttle at the grip all the way. This will give the extra slack on the push cable needed to fit it correctly into the bracket.
Give me..a frame to build a bike on, and my imagination will build upon that frame

Okay scondon, I'll try that later. But doesn't the pull cable turn the, for lack of better word, throttle plate at the same rate the push cable is extended? IE: at WOT wouldn't the space between the end of the push cable and the fitment be the same as closed throttle? Just trying to learn here, thanks for the replies.

Got it! And got everything synced up and running GREAT! I rode it home tonight and boy is it quick (not that I was hard on it, I'm still worried something might fly off since this was my first actual project). I'm 1000% satisfied thusfar, and this winter it's going to become even better.

Here's a picture, don't judge my on my mirrors, I like them.
