Perhaps if you stopped listening to Faux news and all the extremist right wingers, you might realize that the left doesn't want to take your guns away.  They just want to make it harder or impossible for nutjobs to get guns and kill people.  And lets be clear.  Guns don't kill people.  People don't kill people.  Nutjobs kill people.  Virginia Tech.  The Holocaust Museum.  Even Starbuck's, in particular, a BRUTAL killing during a robbery here in D.C. 3 or 4 years ago where the nutjob gathered the staff in the back and killed them.

Heffay, you're right.  This thread will only get worse.

Interestingly enough you can't buy anything from any major company without supporting someone who either supports gun bans, Satan worship, eugenics, or "big tobbaco".

Yes the news has been bought out
yes the talk radio actors are all in the pocket of the white house
yes you need to be smart about things you believe, either heard or read

if you stop buying things that support beliefs that you dont agree with then you won't be buying anything

if you do some research it will scare you

I Read....

.....postings on another thread that made me wonder if many people look behind or into the products or services that they are willing to pay for.

As a pretend for instance, you buy Knickerbocker's Do All Shoes because they are the best.  Do you keep buying them when you find out that Knickerbocker's supports child slavery in TimBuckToo?

How about (this is more realistic) this: Would you buy Alpo dog food if you found out that Alpo supports the 2nd Amendment and believes that Americans are guranteed the right to firearms?

Would you not subscribe to CNN cable channels if you found out that CNN wants to take away your firearms and donates hundreds of thousands of dollars to that end?

In short, as gun owners....... would you put your money where your mouth is?

I have always been curious about this....... Am I the only one?

I might have placed this in the wrong area.  Perhaps a moderater will move it to the proper location

CNN..... Communist News Network   :D
NBC..... Nothing But Crap
CBS..... Clinton's B*#&h Slap

I watch Fox News.  I listen to Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh.  I am a practicing Catholic, Conservative and a NRA life member.  It is really sad what people are trying to do to our freedoms.  Hope this website helps ya  ;)

http://www.pinkpistols.org/antigun.html

I think I see what the problem is here.  The Right Wing Echo Chamber should not be used as a full time habitat.  Maybe it needs a warning label like a on a pack of cigs.  You have to poke your head out for a breath fresh air once in awhile.  Some of the things I hear on Faux, Obama is going to take your guns, Obama is building concentration camps to put all the conservatives in, Obama is a Muslim or not born in the U.S.,  Sadam was behind 9/11, it goes on and on.  LMAO ;D

I am not a hunter, gun owner, nor do I have any interest in guns and as an unabashed "lefty" I would never advocate taking away someones legitmate hunting or sporting weapons.  Fear is a powerful motivator and the NRA uses it to keep the money rolling in.

I got a call allegedly from the NRA recently spouting a bunch of horse#$%* rhetoric telling me about what must've been some really right wing radical's dream scenario of taking all our liberties away simply because of the gun issue. I told him that was the biggest bunch of BS I'd heard and hoped he didn't really believe that himself. Hell, it coulda been Rush for that matter. It really started to sound partisan so I asked him that very thing and told him I wouldn't mind talking guns but I wasn't about to donate to radical partisans and told him to F off.

Does this mean I don't do business with the Republican party? I'd prefer to do business with the American Party. I support our country and not the polarization of our country like these radicals are attempting to cause.

I have a question then. Do you then, not buy anything from another country, because they may suppress their citizens, compete against your country, may be communists, may be fascists, may be taking your countries jobs, may be polluting the world, may not be a brand of religion that you agree with? Secoundary question how do you tell.

here we go
the nra knows the 2nd amendment does not protect your right to own a gun
thats why they won't use it in court
your right to own a gun is the fact that the congress has not taken away your gun
the state police and national guard became the militia years ago
i believe in gun ownership
i believe in protecting your life and property with one if necessary
to put your faith in the nra to protect this is folly

Former president Bill Clinton underestimated the NRA.  When they tried to expand the assault weapons ban the NRA stood against that and eventually was overturned.  When it expired in the Bush Jr years the NRA still made sure people knew it may be back and have been stepping up for the recent election.  A gun is a tool and just like any other tool it can hurt you or other people.  If used properly is safe.

The police and guard are still law enforcement recognized by the government.  Quote from Wiki

The term militia is commonly used today to refer to a military force composed of ordinary citizens[1] to provide defense, emergency law enforcement, or paramilitary service, in times of emergency without being paid a regular salary or committed to a fixed term of service. It is a polysemous with multiple distinct but related meanings.

Wrong, 2nd amendment rights were upheld in the DC handgun ban. The ban was struck down by the Supreme Court of the United States of America.

Well spoken Tramp

What I think the world needs comes down to a few things..........responsible, moral individuals who are willing to support and protect themselves and their neighbours with compassion, trust and understanding. If we outlawed guns, people would use swords or knives, then they would want to outlaw those and we would move on down to trying to outlaw clubs and sticks and so on.............if people could simply be responsible for their own actions there would be no issue here, and no requirement to ban anything because we would use any and all of our resources responsibly and in the best interest of society. Sometimes shooting a criminal is in the best interest of society, the defining point is how that violence is applied, and with what intent.

The point is that no matter where you shop or your opinions on gun ownership or religion or whatever.....if you go into everything in life with a level of compassion, trust, and understanding, you remove self actuated violence from the equation completely.

I do own a firearm or two and I'm an NRA member (sometimes I wonder why I'm a member but that's another issue)
Getting back to the original issue... would I support companies that want to take guns out of the hands of individuals....
No, I would not support or buy products from them if I knew they were deliberately trying to take away my right to own a gun. But... how the heck would I know this? I don't shop at Walmart for certain reasons, I'd much rather support small mom and pop businesses but I have no clue what their political interests are or what politicians they support.

WRONG.  Warren Buffet, George Soros, etc., etc., many of the richest people in the world are decidedly public left-wing commie pinkos.  Ironic, isn't it?

If the NRA wants to put a gun in the hands of every responsible citizen... And that's my take on the NRA... Why is it that even though I have a felony conviction, I am no longer allowed to defend myself?

Doesn't time and circumstances reflect who and what I am?

And if I wanted a gun so bad sure... I'd buy an illegal one.

But it isn't just guns we are no longer allowed to have. Lots of people I know are upstanding citizens that got stupid when we were children.

Are we not allowed to be forgiven our past mistakes and be brought back into full rights status?

The NRA says yes. But everytime I try to talk to someone about it from the NRA I get hung up on or told to look elsewhere.

I happen to think that this is a shame.  Once you've "done the time" for your crime, you should be forgiven.  Isn't that the basis of the cruel and unusual punishment argument in the Constitution?

Forgive my ignorance but are convicted felons who've done their time permitted to vote?

If the NRA wants to put a gun in the hands of every responsible citizen... And that's my take on the NRA... Why is it that even though I have a felony conviction, I am no longer allowed to defend myself?

Havoc, I can't say about US Law but in Canada, if a reasonable time has passed with no reoffence you can apply for a pardon and the slate is wiped clean. Including the ownership of weapons. And that is an item that is much more strictly controlled in Canada.

As of a couple years ago we are able to vote.

But I haven't been able to for so long that it doesn't matter to me anymore. And I am ashamed to say it.

IL has a 20 year disenchanfranchised law and even then we aren't guaranteed our full rights back. It isn't even automatic. We have to fight for it in court.

Most states are like that. Some won't ever give them back.

So it begs the question... why do I still live in the land of the "free" if I am not?
