for one a plug chop is the first thing you do if you even think you are running rich or lean....PLEASE...ANYONE...IF I AM WRONG TELL ME!
you can adjust your carbs...I dont have your carbs but I have a K8 and I have pressed in jets (pilot) and I tapped in screw in jets of a bigger size...I have single slotted main needles and I am experimenting with the older style with 5 slots...do what you can
there are things you can do but you have to set a base line first...AND AS YOU CORRECT/TRY DIFFERENT THINGS DO CHOPS AS YOU GO SO YOU CAN SEE IF WHAT YOU ARE DOING IS WORKING OR MAKING THINGS WORSE...
sync your carbs...
make sure everything is timed correctly...
do a plug chop at: Idle, 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and full throttle...
you could be running rich at idle and lean at other settings... my point is do what needs to be done to move ahead in the proper direction...dont just say..."I know I am lean"...where on the thottle are you the leanest...(that you have proof of and not just a guess)
cv carbs can be weird, but k-n makes some upgrade kits that include different springs, needles, drill bits to get at epa hidden screws, and they have jets everwhere. even on the back where the filter attachs. stock kits are just pissing in the wind. when installations are done right, these carbs come to life
why not buy some of the stuff CD mentioned?
if you are unwilling to investagate the things that are mentioned by the people in here why are you asking questions?
you could always spray 6 cans of carb cleaner in the carb mouths...walk around your bike 6 times...kick the tires 3 or 4 times apiece and swear at it a bunch...it might start to run right...
