One time oil leak?
« on: June 24, 2009, 06:30:48 PM »
So last week I went to test drive my cb550, as I have been trying to tweak the carbs with the unipod/mac4-1 setup.  While I was in my driveway revving the engine, oil started leaking from my left side engine cover at about 1/2 cup per minute.  I shut it off, and hadn't gotten around to looking at it until today(about a week later).  The oil level looks good, and it cranked right up with no oil leaks at all.  Where did this mystery oil come from?
Thanks

Gearshift seal
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).
