Swingarm Bushing
« on: March 13, 2016, 04:14:57 PM »
Hello,

I was installing a new hard plastic swingarm bushing by what I thought was pretty easy tapping with a rubber hammer and block of wood. I got the bushing in half way and realized that I have a small crack in the lip of the bushing, the part that is outside of the swingarm.
Noob question, but is the bushing finished? Does the lip on the outside fill a necessary gap that would cause side to side movement of the swingarm? I know a lot of you use brass bushings, but I had these lying around so I thought they would be fine, guess they're much more fragile than I thought.

The lip provides a thrust surface to keep the sing arm from sliding side to side. A small crack may not pose a problem, but any more than that and I would replace them.

I have 1 set left for $35 if you're interested. Doesn't look like KK has any on EBay right now.

Hey Powderman, he may have run out after I got mine! Or maybe they're different for a 750, I have a 550.

Thanks,
