New blinkers=blown headlight
« on: June 24, 2009, 08:34:41 PM »
So...as the headline reads, all blown.  Headlights are a Lockhart Phillips single filament marker light, I'm pretty sure I hooked them up correctly.  I followed the instruction on the back of the packaging and tucked the solid black (runner) wire into the housing so as not to ground out.  A wire connector must have came out and touched something.  Any suggestions on where to start?

Thanks

Start with the fuse, it's blown ?...O.K., open the h/l shell first and look for some mis-placed wire vs. wiring diagram... big fat wattage halogen h/l will maybe pop stock h/l fuse......whats the wattages on hi/lo? Solid black on these bikes = + Battery voltage ( nominally 12v).
If your sure it's a carb problem; it's ignition,

Fuse is good.  I can see that the headlight is blown and all the directional lights.  This sux, I never had this problem when I was running it WO blinkers.  The headlight is from BikeBandit  dot com and it only has one setting, it is only on when switched to high beam.  I've been running it like that since last year with no problems.  If there is one thing I can live without, that one thing is figuring out electrical problems, rather bash my face against a brick wall.

Well, new blinkers, no mater what, wouldn't cause yer h/l to blow...that's a separate issue...Night Owl Poster's might help you further....us oldfolks ( who rode 200 miles today) are going to bed......!
