USA 2, Spain 0
« on: June 24, 2009, 05:39:49 PM »
Wow!! Did anyone here watch this game this afternoon?
I was surprised at the ability of the USA defense in the 2nd half,
but was totally unimpressed by the inability of the USA to hold
the ball for more than 3 passes.
Who would have believed it was possible? Not me.
peace,
michel

They needed that win badly, I couldn't watch it but I saw the highlights online.

Yes Americans can play soccer really well but unfortunately the general public here has no clue about the sport. Americans focus on Baseball, Football, Basketball, some hockey and golf, oh ya and NASCAR. I like Motocross and World Rally Car racing so I'm an outcast....and soccer too so that confirms I'm an outcast  ;D

Great result.
They may be a very good team.

At the championship level of women's rugby it is very watchable, they have way better technique than the men usually do. Got to watch the USA club championships in Chicago a couple of years ago, the women's cup game impressed me the most.

I wish I could watch that (USA V Spain) game, anyone know where you can watch a recap online?

Looks like the US might actually have a possible futbol contender this cup...  ;)

  I know I was celebrating .

It's funny too . We've always had a decent soccer team and barely anyone follows the game in the US .  I am still waiting for the day the the US spanks Argentina .  Stop laughing . It'll happen .  ;D
