NEW CLUCH
« on: June 25, 2009, 12:09:20 PM »
I just insatalled a Barnett clutch kit. Plates, discs & springs. It is good disengaged and engaged.
My question is when engaging it, it feels differant. Hard to discribe ( off balance, wobble, not smooth ).
Any comments appreciated. Bruce

Check the steel plates for any dishing or warpage. There will probably be some, make sure they stack with the dishing all the same way. Warped ones you might be able to flatten out but new (or good used) replacements will be better.
The Barnett friction material wears pretty fast so any unevenness there should get worn down fairly soon.
