the bike had been leak free, untill something happend to the intake valves on the no. 1 piston.
oil was coming out of the carb.

i'm gonna open the bike up as soon as i get a chance and get down to the source of the problem, hopefully nothing a six or twelve pack can't fix.

kit, thanks for the input. i was fortunate enough to get a bike from a previous owner that had no leaks. except for a worn o ring on the tach cable, oh and a leaky no. 1 carb(but not to bad......yet)

Fact.  My 76F does not leak anywhere.
Fact.  My 79 XS650 leaked at the crankcase to cylinder gasket, very common after many miles on this bike.
Fact.  It has not leaked for the past two years and has healed itself.
Question.  Is my XS650 Jesus returning to Earth and the Rapture imminent?

I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!
