clutch issues 76 360T Help
« on: June 26, 2009, 08:18:27 AM »
My clutch cable snapped on my cb360t. So I ordered a factory replacement, took out the old one ran it did all that noise. Took off the cover so I could attach it and now there is little to no resistance on the clutch at all, even with it tightened up to the max on both ends. And when I finally do get some tension if I do, there is this loud clicking noise when I pull the clutch in and out. I've tried everything and I definitely am not going to bring it tothe shop. Could it be maybe the bearings in the roller are done for?

Any help would be great, i'll get a few pictures of this nonsense when I get out of work.

Thanks in advance

Cable may have come off operating arm when you refitted it?
Its highly likely the inner is slightly longer so you have to adjust mechanism first.
may have lost the ball bearing inside adjuster, between screw and pushrod?
There should be plenty of information and exploded diagrams here, although finding it can be a problem sometimes

note that to tighten the play in the clutch push rod adjuster, it must be screwed OUT. This seems backwards until you realize the screw isn't actually moving, but instead the rotating cam inside is riding inward to take up the gap. It can be tough to see it from a different perspective at times, but it does work!
