Where to get silver trim for the bottom of the seat?
« on: July 08, 2009, 01:56:00 PM »
I'm refurbishing my 78 CB750K seat and it is coming together very nicely. I am looking for some suitable accent strip that used to be around the bottom edge of the seat. Mine didn't have any. I've visited all the local auto parts retailers and body shop supply companies and everyone has "door edge protector" but what they have is really small in profile. It would not clamp over the edge of the seat metal and two layers of the leather I think.

Can anyone suggest where to get larger "door edge protector" or the like? I think that it could be suitable for the bottom edge of the fuel tank also, when I get around to refurbing that.

Thanks
George with a black 78 CB750K (in Lion's Head, Ontario, Canada)

I used generic white door edge trim on my CB200's seat - it fit over two layers of material and the seat pan metal just fine.
