there is a small circle stamped in the metal base plate where the advancer rotor is suppose to point at.  Also the advancer has a pin key so its hard to re-install wrong.

i asked a huy i know who works on older bikes and he says it sounds like a carb problem. My question is, if it is a carb problem where do you think it is that would cause the cylinder to not put out?

Do you have stock exhaust? If not, remove the air filter cover and go for a ride.

I bought new wire at my local bike shop, I just had to cut to fit.

Could be a bad coil. read this.  http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=54015.0

Could be a carb problem, there are several circuits in the carbs that come on and off at different speeds. (at more or less throttle)
No matter how fast or how far I rode, I couldn't leave her memory behind.

Bad coil would mean 2 & 3 would be bad.

After a while of riding a harley was passing by me and as soon as it passed my fonr axle my bike was back to normal and immediatly started picking up.

Maybe your bike has anxiety issues and felt better with another bike close by. ;)
