removable side covers...
« on: June 27, 2009, 07:05:02 AM »
This just popped into my head, BUT...

Should I be worried about people trying to steal the side covers off of my 350 Four once I get it going? I didn't know if there was that much of a demand for them or anything.... ???

Thanks

They are like GOLD, but not many common thieves know that.
Can I have a motorcycle when I get old enough?
If you take care of it.
What do you have to do?
Lot’s of things. You’ve been watching me.
Will you show me all of them?
Sure.
Is it hard?
Not if you have the right attitudes. It’s having the right attitudes that’s hard.

The only place I park my KO or K1 is at an inside & supervised bike show.  If I take it for a ride that is what I do...ride.  I do not stop anywhere.  I am anal about these bikes and try not to put myself into a bad situation.

I Keep.....

...... my bike locked with rear wheel locks everywhere I park.

I know this won't stop someone from taking sidecovers, or maybe even from taking the bike..... but it is better than a stick in the eye.

At home, the rear wheel lock goes on and 2 different big chains and locks go on as soon as I park.  I never leave it unlocked..... not 5 seconds worth.  Still, there has been 6 attempts on the bike that I know of........

My wife is somewhat scared......... even the chains don't seem to spook them enough to stop from trying..... now I keep a 44 Magnum loaded......
