a friend of mine is building a diesel bike, powered by a 5hp Petter. to add to the insanity he is driving a hydraulic pump and motor to the top of the triple clamps and chain drive down to the front wheel(he wants to smoke the front tyre)
due to the weight and size of the motor a one off frame has been built including a single sided swingarm.

I've seen a few bikes converted to diesel, only one really looked good. I'd build one if I could find the right motor.

I'll be watching this, and the SSA would be sweet. I like them.

I got a tip for ya Scunny, don't offer to be the test pilot. ;D

I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

It looks like something out of Mad Max crossed with Fallout 3...and let me tell you, no matter how cool they are, things don't work out well in either of those universes...

...doesn't mean I'm not totally into this build and waiting to see where it goes.

yes the frame design is somewhat brutal, but the flywheel alone weighs in at 48 kilos. this thing isn't for speed, it's a couple of cold ones and see if it will work. we have to come up with a better front end, leaf spring maybe.
