1971 honda cl350
« on: June 29, 2009, 12:20:39 PM »
i just a got a honda cl350 that is topez orange. The man that had it before me stripped the spark plug holes out and had our local honda shop put heel-a-coils in it but ever since he put it back together it won't run i think it is a timing issue ???.
                                                                                                                                              Thanks Nick

You will need to give more information than that. Have you checked to ensure you have spark at the plugs, gas is getting through the carbs to the engine? What makes you think it is timing?

+1 we can help. Tell us more about the bike.

A diagnostic haiku:

Three things are needed,
spark, fuel, and compression.
Check in that order.

So, have you checked the timing?

Have a service manual?  Do a static timing check.  You can get a manual from the Other Honda Motorcycles section of hte following thread:

OK - i'm being picky:  a haiku needs 5-7-5 syllables.  need an extra syllable in that second line.  'spark, fuel and compression, too'

:)

"Fuel" is technically two syllables, even though most people pronounce it as one.  :)

Spark = 1
Fuel = 2
and = 1
compression  = 3

1+2+1+3 = 7  :)
