Ok so it's raining out out and with everything on the bike locked up I decided the wet grass would be a great help. I was right, it slid along without issue.

This is my dad's old '76 GT500, it was in a barn for a number of years. One winter the barn collapsed, and for whatever reason it was decided rather than leave it under what was left of the barn (there's still a Yammie 250 in there in better shape purely for being under what little is left of it) it was pulled out into the snow to sit for years. Today it will begin a new life! I hope. It may not be worth it, but I'm tearing into it. My only concern is where the heck to start and how to go about it.

Nearly everything is locked up. I think the tranny is free, but the pistons are rusted in there nicely. Anyway, picture bombardment and a single questions: where the heck do I start? I've never worked on a 2-stroke.

Any suggestions (if I can get the engine free, go through it a bit, etc.) on what route to take with this? I was considering street tracker.

(I'll upload the pictures later, I'm having issues with my camera)

Pictures! (I'm also putting this over in the Project Shop, I'm going to try to get the engine un-stuck)

Stainless rotor?

It's growing stuff.

Peeling chrome, typical.

Read this plug! Rusted, electrodes pushed together (how would that one happen do you think?)

Start with a mix of Marvel Mystery Oil and Liquid Wrench in the cylinders.  Just a little LQ to thin out the MMO so it will penetrate.  If the cylinders and pistons are anything like that spark plug, disassembly is your only option.  So get to finding a gasket kit(and tach) and pull the entire bike apart.  Take some bolt cutters to the chain so you can move it around.
Go metric, every inch of the way!
