I sure would like to have a printup of this thread. to keep and read as I want to. Would this be possible?

Bill, I gathered up the posts as of about 7:00 today and created a PDF file. I emailed it to you and hope it does not add to your eMail/system woes. If it did not work, or we can work out some other arrangement let me know, but I will be gone until next weekend.

In any event, hang in there, our thoughts remain with you and yours.
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

It's always hard to see such details in black and white, drives home the thought that you are unconsciously trying to avoid mate.
I know it all seems like a dark void right now Bill but you will get through this, you will see the sun shine again and your thoughts of Brenda will become the gentle memories that make you smile.
At this point all you can do is steel your heart and hold yourself together for those around you, when all the family and friends have drifted away as they do eventually, you will have time for yourself and your sweet memories of Brenda  :) that's when the healing truly starts.
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

It certainly IS hard to see it there. Something else that's going to be hard is the Church service Sunday Morning. I don't remember if I have told this, so bear with me. Because that Brenda was the pianist, Sunday, the piano will be silent with no one at it and they want a photo of Brenda to put there, along with a single red rose, in remembrance of her and the funeral home delivered a large oil painting of the picture that I supplied them and it is PERFECT! I need to get it to the church though, I can't take a chance of something happening to it and it is really having an affect on me.

After the service that picture will be a beautiful reminder for you Bill.
Hold your head up as best you can for the service and lean as heavily as you like on those who support you, it's what they are there for at this time and they know you will be there for them when they need you.
This is the last physical thing you can do in Brendas' honour, we know you will do it well. :)

Presently I'm on DSL through Centurytel.net (through our phone service, that connects with an "ethernet" cable), but I'd gotten one of those Wireless adapters that plugs in a USB connection (I think they call them 'cards") through ALLTEL (now Verison) and want to get setup on that (I'm gonna have to call them and get an assist because I can't get it to connect, so I can completely drop the home phone and move the home phone number over to Brenda's cell phone. Does that help?

we really ARE a big family here. Bill i feel like a member of my family has passed, when we found out that Brenda had passed it was like a kick in the guts to me.

I didn't want to put this on the threads about the 4th of July, but, I don't see how I am EVER going to be comfortable with this time again. Seeing the 1st of July coming, isn't going to be easy to deal with. I put this here because I am completely for celebrating our independence and all, but I DIDN'T WANT to be free from Brenda! That day will be forever marked in my mind. From about 5:30AM - about 7:15 (the approximate time that the emts were here trying to save Brenda) I just can't get that period time out of my head. Then I didn't think we were ever going to get there and when we did get there and they found out who I was, we were taken to a "Family Room" (I knew that that wasn't good :( ) I'd been by that room on several occasions and never really noticed it for what it was. Then, when they told us, my heart sank! My world was shaken so bad that I just couldn't believe it, I thought, "They Must Have The Wrong Room!" We were waiting to go see Brenda, but NOT IN THAT WAY! I was wishing that it was me instead, so that she could continue on. I am just so beside myself. I was already doing most everything around here because she, for ine reason or another, just didn't feel like doing much. Back about 13 yrs ago, she went into depression because of all that we had to deal with concerning Karla's seizures, finally caught up with her (she never admitted it, she finally went to the Doctor and he put her on medication and she was on her way back to feeling more like herself. About 11 yrs ago, she started taking over paying some of the bills again. I still paid a good portion of them, did most of the cooking, clothes washing, etc. She gradually started trying to get back in the thick of things, but never really made it that far. She would tell me that my cooking was better than hers and I would say, yeah, you just want me to cook so you won't have to. ;) Anyway, last Dec, she was sick a fair amount of time and hadn't felt very good since (seemed to be several different things going around and she had the symptoms of those things. Then, about a month or 2 ago (hard to keep up with time), she started having all kinds of tests (upper gi, lower gi, small intestines, colonoscipy, lab work) and then on about the 5th of June she had a blood transfusion of 2 units. When she was leaving the hospital with more color (she had been very pale) and she felt like she had energy (she had been so lifeless before) and we thought things were looking up. Then she started getting pale again & lossing energy. She went in to see the Doctor on the 25th of June for a followup and the 26th, they called her here at the house and said that she was to go to the hospital NOW to get another transfusion of 2 units of blood. I was in another room and she told me what they said, so, off we went, to get some more blood. This time, she didn't get the color back like the 1st time AND she didn't get the energy back like the 1st time either. Then, the next thing I know, we are at evening of the 30th of June and she's reminding me that she has 2 Doctor apointments the next afternoon and wants to wear the new pants that I had bought her. As you all know by now, she will never wear those pants again.  For the life of me, I didn't realize that I was going to go into this the way that I did. I just started typing and couldn't seem to stop. I am really surprised that my pc hasn't crashed yet. Bad thing is, when she didn't feel good, she would sometimes try to hide it. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't.

Mark

Thank you for that Mark, I do know that everything has a purpose and we don't know what it is, but God does.I also know that God will not put more on you than you can handle, but I wish he would have told me that I could handle this much. I know that I am on a countdown for the main part of this but, it's going to take a very long time to be able to even begin to deal with this. I've been Praying about it and I know that God does things in his time, not ours. Tomorrow, we've got Church (gonna be tough not seeing Brenda at that piano), then we've got the viewing from 1-9PM (with us being there from 2-4PM) and then comes Monday, with the funeral at 10AM.

Relationships are not built on a moment or single word... rather it's the "collection" of experiences.  You've lived a marvelous life with a marvelous woman.   Your life with her is your testament to her.

Your time spent with her is yours.  It will always be yours.  You get to own everything about everything the two of you experienced.  No one can ever erase or change that.  Feel blessed - many never have and never will feel and experience what you have.

Thank you for being such a supportive member of the forum.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours.

I check in here every day to spend some time with you Bill.  Although I don't know you (I'm new around these parts), I do admire your courage and strength.  You are going through the unimaginable right now and I hope you know that you feel you can express whatever you need to.  After seeing the tremendous outpouring of support for you here, I am amazed by the people who make up this community.  You are a good man, I can see that by the way people respond to you.  Every single one of these folks will be with you in that church tomorrow.

I will honor your beloved tomorrow with a prayer.  I hope that you are able to find the small moments of grace and peace in your next few weeks and months that will bring you the solace you will need to find your way.  May the rest of your days be a testament in honor of your Brenda.

I have to say that I been fortunate, for a fact. When I met Brenda the 1st time, I was completely taken by her. I was SO taken by her that (as I've already told), I didn't even think to get her name, address or phone number and had NO IDEA what part of Little Rock she lived in. Now, being that "Hard Headed Dutchman" that I am, I proceeded to scour Little Rock each and every day until I would find her. Now, you have to admit that to try to locate 1 person in a city as large as Little Rock, is a pretty good undertaking. But, with God's leading hand, I was allowed to find her (after a MONTH of looking). Something that really impressed her Mom was the fact that I would go to Church with her and I wasn't even a Baptist, like she was. I am now and have been for quite some time. I've had MY time with her and i guess it's God's turn, since he's called her home. I know that she's in a better place and she is in the Prime of health, but the human side of me, Misses her tremendously!

Some years back, Brenda and I would go out to eat with Brenda's Aunt and her Cousin. On the way into or out of the restaurant, Brenda and I would get into a goofy conversation like, "I would say, "you know, we sure have a lot of fun, why don't we get married?" and she would say something like, "What, and spoil all the fun?" We're already living together! ;D Keep in mind that this was back in the early 70's and that wasn't as accepted then.

We got married on a Friday night and woke up Saturday morning to watch road runner cartoons! :D She got up and was going to fix my breakfast and said, "how do you like your eggs?" (note* she hated eggs, but was ready to fix them for me).  I said,"Over easy" and then I had to explain what that meant (she'd never fixed eggs before. she'd cooked, but not eggs) When I went into the kitchen, she was throwing  something away, she'd broken the yellow on 4 eggs and had thrown them out because she broke the yellow. I immediately told her that I could and would eat them with cooked yellow, but that I preferred them runny. She was so embarrassed.

Like I've said, I was (and still am) a 1 woman man and she WAS that woman.

Thank you so much for your kind words and you are so right about this community, There is no other like it. Anyone who would talk against this community, doesn't really KNOW this bunch. Myself, I'm a proud member who will be turning 4yrs, this coming Dec 4th.

We may not be able to be there in person, but all of us here on the forum will be there for you anytime you need us.

Kit and I send comforting hugs your way, Bill. We wish you peace, understanding, proper time and space to mourn (we all need it and it can be a roller coaster for a while), good memories of your lives together to bring a smile to your heart, shoulders of friends to lean upon whenever you need them and the strength to go on without her until it is time for you to be reunited. I know it's hard to be strong during all of this. Know this... you are allowed to let go, drop your guard, ask for help, allow others to hold you up when you just can't find your feet... even get mad about it. It's okay. No one is ever going to think less of you or walk away. We'll all step up, offer a shoulder to lean on or a hand to hold and help you through it.

Take care.

Well said Mickey, so true Bill...you are part of an international community and if it helps you every day to jump on here to get some semblance of normality we are all here for you mate. :)
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!
