Noob, need help
« on: July 01, 2009, 04:46:35 PM »
Hi all, I was directed over here by the fellas at RSWarrior.com.   I inherited a '77 CB750 from my father last fall and am about ready to start putting it back together.  But after a move into the new house and having to move all of Dad's stuff, I have no idea where the key to this thing is. How would I go about getting a new key cut? Or do I need to find a whole new ignition set?

Welcome to SOHC4.

The ignition itself should have a number on it but you will probably have to remove it to find the number. That corresponds to the correct key. Try HondaKeys.com once you find the number. I picked up 3 spares from him.
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)

Welcome to the fun and congrats on your purchase of a very cool version of the CB. Good luck on getting your key all sorted out. Hotwiring a CB isn't all that difficult if you're the impatient sort. Do a search; it involves disconnecting the plastic wiring connector that goes to the ignition and then jumping across the terminals.

Wake is kind of way out there, isn't it??
