lowering kit reversal
« on: October 08, 2009, 05:30:17 PM »
i bought a 750 because it was a bigger bike and it has a lowering kit  so i wanna get rid of it but it think some one switched out the shocks but could just be me... in the first pic  the red is the angle is where i think it should be and and is the yellow is where it should be mounted
and the second is  what kind of shock it think it should be what are my options in ur experience?
the third is where i think it should be but because  it has and eye hole bottom rather than the other typ of forked bottoms that it should be .... and here is where my problem lies  is it strong enough to  hold if i use a side mount like it is currently or is this a bad idea?

Holy F*@K!  I would never ride a bike like that, and you should not either!

Your second pic is correct. those are the shocks you need.  They have a fork shape at the bottom known as a clevis, which straddles the swingarm mount or lowering block.

That setup you have there is really scary!

I have some 750 stock shocks that aren't too shabby, they're lightly pitted but polish up nice and will be WAY better than what you got there.

I'd be willing to consider trade, got any cool chopper parts?

If not, I'd let you have them for $25 plus shipping from 60007

I'll get some pics later on tonight.

Shocks are just about 13.5 inches long, from center of the hole to center of the hole on the mounting bolts.  Showa brand.

Thegabrielj currently has dibs on these if he's interested.
