West Coast to Sturgis & Back July/Aug
« on: July 01, 2009, 05:52:07 PM »
;D  I'm heading off little Gabriola island BC and heading out on a solo trip from here to Yellowstone to meet up with Jerry.......
AKA "Jerry Rxman Griffin" from CO and then off to a house Jerry (says) we can stay at in Sturgis for the week???

I'm leaving here July 25th - 26th or so. Going to hit 90 East from Seattle stopping around Spokane WA 1st night.
2nd night  Missoula, MT
3rd night Bute, MT?
Nothings stamped in stone, I'm giving myself a breakdown/rain day in there as well  ;)

Anyone want to meet up, offer a bed, have a beer, ride for a bit......... drop a line in here.  I don't have a return path yet, thinking I'll just head West with no real care on how I get home. 7-8 days maybe.

This will be my most Epic solo bike adventure,   OK so I have to drink beer and beat Jerry at billiards for 5 days in between ;D

I thought so ;-)...nice bags - where are they from?

And get a small tank bag - invaluable! And dont forget the rain gear - boot covers/gaiters are a good idea if you dont like wet feet.

cheers

Motopak a BC Company and very tough gear http://www.motopakluggage.com/  I used them on a trip to SanFran a few years ago and they are very expandable.  Undo a zipper and they double in size!

I have their large expandable magnetic tank bag as well. Can't say enough about how well this stuff is put together and not expensive. I did replace the cardboard support inside with thin fiberboard to get a bit better fit, but that's just me wanting everything just so ;D

"foot covers"
on my trip home from SF I stopped at a gas station and got 2 small white garbage bags to cover my feet for a few hours ;D

Used them later to clean up junk from my bags ;)

Missoula, ID eh??  :D ;D ::)  Bute, MO eh??  :o 8) ::)  Oh, this should be fun between you and Newc.

You'd better let me do your mapping, eh!  Night 3 (if you're leaving from Seattle) will be West Yellowstone. At any rate take your time and enjoy the ride. We're hooking up around the smoker and cooler Sunday for planning  ;)

Who's along the way to help Derek drink beer??
As of today 3/13/2012 my original owner 75 CB750F has made it through 3 wives, er EX-wives. Free at last.  ;-)
