Now now Steve, behave! If you can get anyone to respond to a thread about brakes I'll be impressed. I couldn't get any replies to my post about pads!

And look at the nice protective clothing he was wearing!

I wonder what he would think of Honda's latest inovation, an airbag on the Gold Wing.  ;)
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

Well it is hard to tell but the brakes look non existant. At least i see none on the front! The back looks like the drum from a pedal bike.

Maybe we should start a thread about helmets...

"would you wear a leather skull cap at 138mph?"

It's been said that Chuck Yeager wore an old leather football "crash" helmet when he flew the X-1 through the sound barrier in 1947...

Impressive, CBJunkie.....

If you watch "The Right Stuff" they show him making the "helmet" fit over his flight cap... The hard helmets pilots have today didn't exist.

C'mon, how about Kenny ROberts on the Yamaha RD350's beating mc's
twice the displacement? Now that was a sight to behold. Non?

But then again, RD350s are miniature rocketships.

Back in the early 70s the local policeman had a word to us young Air Force apprentices.

He had a Triumph Saint & we had Jap stuff (I had a drum braked Mach 111).

he told us that we made him look bad in town as he couldn't catch us and, as we'd eventually have to see him to pass the licence test, he'd appreciate it if we went to the next town on the weekends & played up.

fernihough,169.50miles per hour on a brough superior(jap ) engine 1937 8)  mick.

Is this the record set at Montlerhey - I was on stand with that bike all weekend when the Last Moto Legend was held there. It looked and sounded great up high on the banking.
In the UK anything over 40 years old only needs insurance and Fuel.

RD350s, but they are so much fun!!

'69 R3(350), '73 R350, '84 RZ350

In addition to my SOH4's of course.
Not to mention the Elsinore.
