Where to find CB500 stock "banana" seat?
« on: July 03, 2009, 08:39:14 PM »
Hey guys, my 500 has the king/queen seat on it.  It is good for having my wife on the back but I am 5'11" and when I am sitting on the bike alone it isn't the most comfortable riding position.  It was my grandpa's bike before and he is 5'5" so it worked for him just fine.  In fact, if I sit on the hump in between the king/queen point then it is just about perfect.  So, I am trying to find the stock "banana" style seat or something similar where I can sit further back.  Can anyone direct me in the right direction?  Even a similar style of aftermarket seat would be nice.

Maybe I have been calling it by the wrong name?  Isn't this the ducktail?  http://www.sohc4.net/index.php?q=gallery&g2_itemId=719
Also the seat on your bike on your avatar?  I assume this is what KCRSXTypeS meant by banana seat.  Help set me straight.

No its not a ducktail its just a bog standard 500 seat, (550 is same fitting with a different "pattern" in it)

The Ducktail seat was fitted to the original cb750 and has a distinct kick up over the rear few inches. Check out

Roger that, thanks for the info!  In my searches, they seem to call any of the 'banana seats' ducktails  ???

KCRSXTypeS, does any of this help you?
