How about a Kawasaki kz650 from 1977?

One is up for sale. The ones for sale all seem to run better than mine. hmm...

Is it a good bike? They have dual overhead cams, right? Is that good? Sacrilege, I know!

Good bikes.  Buy before they become a "recognised" classic.

Owned a 78 KZ650 SR before my CB750.  Good bike, DOHC means Shim under bucket valve adjustment which is somewhat of a pain.  They run a little lean from the factory, so most PO's have adjusted something to compensate.

Loved mine. Handles and feels more like a 'new' bike than our CB's. Absolutely fun bike.
No.

They are by far easier to bring back from the dead than our CB's.

Most older Kawasaki dealers will have 650/750/900/1000 parts by the millions still left over from the 70's. I know the dealer I used to work at had rooms of the stuff.

Thanks, guys. I am furiously trying to convince myself to buy another bike but it's hard. Maybe a daily rider for the days until the CB becomes a daily rider? Aaaaah......too many vehicles right now. And all kinds of other sh!t to take me away from the bikes. Anybody want an old Dodge van with just about every seal leaking?

Great motor, drop a 720 kit in it and it's even more fun.
Really good looking bike in my opinion.

I think the GPz750 motor is a direct drop into that frame, too....

IIRC we had to modify the lower rear mounts to get it to fit. Easy as pie.

The turbo motor on the other hand is a 750 lower with a 650 top. One bracket and she's in. You'll need lots of exterior brackets though.
