I've always had good luck with them
Ken has told me the best time to get ahold of them is in the afternoons Wed, Thurs, or Fri.

I sent a request for pricing some time ago, heard from Sue today.  ;D
Be patient, I'm sure that you will hear soon enough from CycleX.

I ordered some fork tubes from them. I was told they would go out the next day and they waited several days to ship them. I don't think that's unreasonable except saying one thing and doing another. It's no big deal to me. A lot of places will sit on an order for a few days. I was just a little impatient to get my bike back on the road. UPS screwed up though and lost my package. If you call UPS and complain they will get things straightened out. I was asked if I wanted to file a complaint, I said yes and within an hour someone was calling me to tell me they had lost my package. They found it that night and brought it the next day, which was a Saturday. I wouldn't sweat Cyclex. I would sweat UPS once you get a tracking number. USPS seems to be doing a better job than UPS these days.

Sometimes it's not easy for a small business to make things happen as planned with limited resources and man power. HOWEVER, do not make promises you can not keep. Be patient and support those of us that keep the SOHC4s on the road.

i know that off and on for the past several months Sue has been having some health problems and that gets their shippind screwed up sometimes but ken and sue are top notch people. if something doesnt come right away theres a good reason for it.

Hey Jerry,

As a oneman business I am having the same issue's. Since I have a terminally ill family member, and am giving support the delivery times are up. But one has to understand what is really important in life!

Thanks.
Better sorry for failing then for the lack of trying.

Did you ask them what the delay is.? Carbs possibly been held up in Japan maybe.? I have heard there is a shortage of stuff coming out of Japan which is understandable. They are a reputable business and have some great parts and a great rep on this site......

Jake is the shop manager, Sue (Ken's wife) is there rarely. Ax for Jake. Ive visited on many occasions. Several of my orders have been delayed, but most have been shipped way promptly.

I've tried phoning them a number of times over the years and either got a busy signal or was told to call back when Ken was on the phone. When I have managed to talk to Ken, what I would have thought would have been a five minute conversation turned into 20 mins of his expertise. Not a bad thing, just why sometimes it's hard to get through.

If you look at their website for parts, many say they are out of stock, but their eBay store usually has it on auction which is where I go for most of the things I've needed from them. About five or six weeks ago I bought an offset sprocket from them through their website. They replied that they'd get back to me with shipping details. Didn't hear anything for a couple of days, then Canada Post went on strike.

Last week I wrote them and asked that if it hadn't been shipped (USPS) wasn't accepting packages for Canada, could they fedex it and I'd pay the extra shipping. Ten minutes later got a paypal invoice for freight. Paid and got a tracking number in 45 minutes. Came two days later.

I think a number of people have had some issues. In their case I think you have to be patient sometimes and/or do a bit of unexpected followup.
This project started in confusion and will end in disarray.

I have received excellent parts and service from CYCLE X.
When I call a real person answers almost immediately. No stupid phone menus. No infuriating "Your call is important to us and please stay on the line and your call will be answered in the order that it was received" REPEAT,REPEAT.
They always answer all my questions, give me good technical advice and make excellent products too. And if they have a problem getting a part they tell you they are having a problem and they tell you why.
Just look at the photos on their website.
It tells the story. Look at their shop.  They are committed to CB750s and that is Cafe bike as well as choppers and other kinds of bikes.

Ken has been very nice to me on the phone in offering help and answering my questions.

I ordered a set of standard fork tubes from them only to find out after installing them that their standard is an inch over OEM. I called and spoke to Jake and they shipped a set of -1's to me at no cost with a return label in the box. That misunderstanding cost me in labor what I paid for the tubes ($150) luckily I watched the guy do it and I did it myself this time around.

I was very grateful that they did that. My only beef was that they waited a day to ship out the new set and then there was mix up with FedEx so they didn't go out till a couple of days later. I was hoping to have the bike back on the road in time for a vintage meet and that delay caused it not to happen.

I will admit I was a little impatient but I hope they update the site. The first set got to me in like 3 days. I would order from them again

I have there tubes on my F.  I used the measurements that they listed on the sit to pick the ones i needed.  not sure it i needed longer or shorter ones to have the same as stock.  I guess you couldnt do that if the forks were together.

I didn't even have the original length tubes to measure. The guy before me had installed 4+ tubes.

I called on a Monday to order a frame I was told by Roxi that they were on back order, and that I was on the waiting list. She said to call back on wed to talk to Ken about the order, I called back on wed and Roxi said it wasn't a good time to bother Ken and that I should call back on Fri. I call back on Fri and ken is gone racing so I should call back on Mon . I call back on Mon and no Ken, I should call back on Tue I call back on Tue....no Ken again, try wed. I call on wed and get ahold of ken. I know this might not mean much to anyone else but between my 2 bros and me we have bought around 9000$ worth of stuff and ken knows this, so he tells me that because I have been a great customer that I will be moved up the waiting list, he puts me back with Roxi and I paypal for the frame. She sais she will call when the frame is ready to be shipped. The following wed she calls and sais the frame will be shipped on Thurs. I call on Tue to order some parts and she tells me the frame is not ready then proceeds to tell me " We are so busy, we have been shipping frames all week". There were six people ahead of me for frames... six, and that for my loyalty as a customer I was moved up the waiting list. On Fri still no frame I call back and it's "you ordered a frame?" let me check...The frame had been misplaced and that they would get right on it and ship it soon. Now I am not a spoiled brat that expected to get moved up on the waiting list nor did I ask for it. And I did not bring up the small fortune my family has spent there. What does bother me is being told one story after another. Not putting down Ken. Ken has been great to my Bros and me but something is wrong with now going on a month to get a frame and it still has not even been shipped yet. I could have gotten one elsewhere but I chose to stay loyal to Cyclex. Loyalty in this case seems to be a one way street.

I have ordered a few times without much issue. My guess is that they are going through a growing phase where they are no longer adequately staffed?? I hope that is the issue. They seem to have a real love for these old bikes, maintaining and building them. They were around before the craze and I bet they will be here after.

I am never really keen to see someones first post pissing and moaning about a member and business that is well respected here. All i got from your post is that Ken is BUSY, if you bothered to read the forum instead of #$%*ing you would know that he has been flat out with his new {and awesome } race bike, 3 different race tracks in 3 weeks, i imagine that is putting a strain on being able to keep up with demand {a good place to be in your economy}. It doesn't matter how good a business is, sooner or later there will be a delay, if you are "loyal" as you say then be patient.
