Of course you do young man, low mileage, one careful owner (and ten that didn't give a sh*t), hand painted by an escaped psycho patient with their own feces....who wouldn't want it?

Very cool, I didn't look before because I thought the thread was abandoned. Ha. I'm lusting for the gas pumps shown. Our street rod club used to restore one every year to raffle off. The secret to selling tickets was to restore one side and put a window in the door on the other side with lighted glass shelves, and interior walls.  Everyone and their wife would buy a chance to win a curio cabinet like that.
Sine I retired I have been wanting to take pictures of old barns. This may inspire me to start.

I couldn't understand why so many people were posting in an abandoned thread, so I had to have a look for myself.  ;D
When I was a youngster we used to haunt an abandoned health spa. My buddy and I followed some of our friends out there one halloween sneaked in behind them and scared the bejeesus out of them.

I love this thread. i am going to be scouting out some places, and I want to get them before they knock them down.

Heh...usta be a Starlite Drive-in in Sacramento when I was a kid...before that we lived at Ft. Barry (NCO housing area), which was part of 6th Army hdqtrs, Presidio, SF. Now, it's part of the Golden Gate National Recreational area which includes all of the former Presidio on both sides of the SF Bay, and some of the surrounding Marin Headlands as well. Absolutely stunningly beautiful at times, sometimes you can hardly see the tailights in front of you because of the fog, but traffic still goes 65 bumper to bumper fog or not. If you're into military sites, this area has been part of "western defense" since the Spanish came in the 1700s , the GGNRA abounds with history and remnants of historical gun emplacements, defense structures, and bunkers, and some parts are still active military. Down the road is Fort Cronkite, which was an active anti-aircraft missile site when my dad retired from the Army in '65.  At the end of the road is Rodeo beach, with the absolutely smallest, little tiniest pebbles rather than sand (works great for aquarium gravel), as well as the Marine Mammal Research Center, if you're into seals, whales, and such. Heh..my daddy was a rocketman, I believe there is a Nike-Hercules missle and launcher still on display there, and Point Bonita Lighthouse was open to visitors last time I was there.... Gotta go over a really cool scary narrow bridge to walk out there. Great place for a kid to grow up in the early 60s.....and I'm sure anyone who's been there can vouch for the overall superb motorcyling roads throughout the rest of the Marin/ Mendocino coastal area....in fact, the whole N. Cal coast....

You guys ever heard of the Highline in NYC?  Its an old elevated RR line that was abandoned for many years and recently turned into a park and pedway.  Chicago has one that's almost twice as long, presently just fenced off.  Its called the Bloomingdale Line, and it 100 years old and hasn't seen rail traffic in 10 years.  It likely will get made into some type of park or pedway, but until then its just for homeless people, brave joggers and kids having beer parties.  Went and shot some pics the other day when it was snowing.  Its hard to tell, but its 15 ft off the ground and 30 feet wide, stretching for about 2.7 miles.

1.  Looking due west.  Kinda freaky, no guardrails.
2.  The Blue Line subway had to build these tracks over the old concrete Bloomigdale Line.
3.  Old RR ties covered with snow.

That's amazing, is that submarine in the background being worked on or just abandoned?
What part of the world are we talking here?

Those docks are just across the river from me in Birkenhead UK, they are unused for the most part since container ships took over the river. I had a walk around and the dock system and its massive, I plan a full day out when the weather over here is a bit warmer, lots of redevelopment going on though. I’ll get some photos, the sub is now in a museum.

Here's a challenge:
This bomb was exploded July 25, 1946.  It is called "Shot Baker," or "Event Baker."

Here's a sketch of the ships that were sunk.

You can get more info at Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Crossroads

Try to find the satellite images of the wrecks.  I wasn't able to.  Either they're too deep, or I just couldn't zone in on their location.

But here's the USS Arizona:

Fantastic stuff, I really get into the old WW11 relics.
In NZ they burried many of the fighters after the war and my son and his friend go digging in these areas.
Last time out they found a revolver and some Gull Wing Corsair ammo boxes.
There are aircraft wrecks scattered around the hills and mountains of NZ as trainee pilots had a habit of ditching regularly during the war.

OK I finally got something to post on here, this is the abandoned barn on my partner's old farm in Te Horo near Otaki, her Father Jim and I make a guest appearance in one of these photos. ;)
She remembers as a girl throwing bales of hay down to him and trying to knock him over. ;D
It was a two storied barn, the way the wood is rotting makes it a great photo shoot.
It was part of her Grandfather's farm then her father took it over but having 4 daughters they did a lot of the farm work.

Just up the road from my house. It is an old port office.
There was a dock out front years ago where goods were brought to and from the Island by boat. Someone recently bought the property and cut down 50+ years of weeds and brambles from it so it is visible now.  Oh and 2 otters having sex on the beach just as a kicker ;)
