Okay, so taking photos of old abandoned #$%* is one of my pastimes...

The first set of photos are from the Sea of Cortez, there's an island that is now a nature preserve that used to be the home of an old salt mine.  People have planted gardens around the place... note the cactus growing out of the seat in the forklift.

The second set is from North Park, CO my original home.  These are shots I took in the equipment boneyard on my aunt and uncles 5200acre cattle ranch.

the property is so big the pictures look fake. maybe cause I've never seen clouds go that far back.
they usually hit trees about 500 yards in any direction around here.
everything I say is pure speculation and
I have no idea what I'm talking about  ._.

If you ever get the chance, North Park is one of the purdiest damn places you'll ever go.  Take HWY 230 south out of Laramie, WY and into CO.  You can also get there from Ft. Collins by taking taking HWY 14 up the Poudre Canyon.  The homestead on this ranch sits on the backside of Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park.  BTW, I was born in South Park and I once almost killed a guy named Kenny.

Yeah it is a keen thread. :)
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

Man those are straight out of Bonanza!
Here in NZ they would have an historic places trust protection order placed on them.

We just picked some roads on a map that looked good and took off. They were 45-55 mph curvy roads with some long straights too. They were very smooth and we barely saw anybody else out there. I one point in time I really opened up my 400 and got it going about 110mph.
After that I parked on the side of the road and waited for my angry wife to catch up and yell at me for being and #$%*. ;D

She wasn't really mad but she did give me a little lecture about what ever it ladies are always lecturing about. ;D

I used some copper pipe to make a place for fuses and registration. I'll post a close up later.

I milled the brackets, cut the pipe and drilled/tapped for the screws that hold it all together.

I build cabinets and furniture for living so fabricating and shaping is what I do best. I just made jigs from wood and then used a router with a patern to mill everything. It takes awhile but the results are the same as what people get with actual mills. I just use the tools I already have instead of buying more stuff.

I had that same copper tube a long time ago... my uncle made it for me for storing my... safety meeting equipment in.

Yeah, it is a shame that someday soon they will have fallen in on themselves and we won't have them to look at.  But nothing we do lasts forever.  Especially if it doesn't have a foundation. ;)

Lovely shots, I will charge up my camera and see if I can explore a bit here in NY.
