Of course I dropped the tiny piece!! cb650
« on: July 04, 2009, 01:50:16 PM »
So I'm half way through tearing apart my carbs and giving them a good cleaning, when I managed to drop a tiny little washer. I've searched the floor diligently but can't find it at all. Does anyone know what size this is and if I can get a replacement easily? Or better yet, how essential is it?

This is off a 79 cb650 and goes between the spring and little o-ring on the pilot screw.

Not sure of an exact size but you will easily be able to get another from SKF or one of the bearing/seal manufacturers or even a local garage.
Something close would be fine as it is only a sealing washer that puts even pressure on the rubberised "O" ring instead of letting the end of the spring damage the seal.
You could if really really desperate (and broken down in the middle of the desert)  :D  go without it but how much exactly do you like removing your carbs really? and you could expect the seal to be wrecked pretty quickly by the unprotected end of the spring.

You got an envelope small enough CB? Maybe I can borrow a "point bag" from one of the prisoners at work. :D
