New guy from San Diego
« on: June 30, 2009, 10:47:01 AM »
Just wanted to say hi. I've been cruisin' the forums for tips for a couple of days now. I just picked up a 1977 CB750K this weekend with 950 original miles. It came with a Windjammer fairing and stepped up seat. The fairing is already gone and the hunt is on for an original headlight assembly, seat and front fork Honda emblem. I'll get some pics on here shortly.

The story is that the original owner was in the service and brought the bike home one day. The wife said "No Way"! So he sold it to the second owner who put 936 miles on it....and then died. His wife left the bike in the garage with gas in the tank till about '95 when the third owner bought it. By then the tank had rusted out and the carbs were varnished up. #3 obtained a replacement tank and cleaned out the carbs and got it running and put 14 miles on the bike before storing it till this year. I found it on Craigslist.

The fairing is off and my replacement headlight came in the mail the other day. Just waiting for the mounting ears I ordered to come in. In the mean time I'm polishing up the aluminum covers while I look for an original seat.
