Ok guys (and I mean that non-gender specifically

), I'm about to get on a plane to moscow. Get you're bikes ready and I'll see you when I get back... all I have to do to mine between the 22nd, when I'm back in portland, and the 25th is reinstall the head and cam, time the cam, install the cam cover and adjust the valve lash, install the pipes and carbs, and make sure I'm not gonna bend any more valves..

considering MINE isn't the one with the cardboard diaper under her in the garage as a precaution.

Actually, I think Kit's bike is now technically newer than mine with all those replacement parts.

Can't wait to have helmet hair with y'all. We'll make the party too since we apparently don't live too far from you, just down scholls ferry (toward Wash Square Mall) and then right on Hall. See y'all there.

Thanks Paul for having us all at your new shop. Can't wait to see it and hopefully your rebuild goes smooth and you can ride along. If not, you can ride on the back of my Harley.

Yeah, but Jon doesn't have foot pegs so you have to wrap your legs around him.

Damnit, I remember once Jon and I went out for a ride. The bike he was riding broke a throttle cable. Couldn't fix it on the road.
My bike had no footpegs. So I told him I'd ride halfway back on the back, then we'd switch. It was about 60 miles or so.

Holding my legs up for that long with nothing to rest them on, I could barely walk.

Three days is plenty of time to get an upper end together!

Anyway, I hope everyone gets up and running.

Just got back from a ~1400mi ride (Portland to Boise via Sultan, WA) What a ride!
Anyone who hasn't been to Painted hills or John Day fossil beds really neeeds to get out there.
Be sure to take ALL of your gear! Highs were 90+ during the day and ~45 at night.
It wasn't a gradual decrease either, as soon as the sun went down, it got cold!

I've informed my apartment manager of the impending mayhem at my place.
She says, "Bring it on"!
Yaquim, you don't have to be from Portland, you just have to be in Portland that day. LOL
That goes for anyone else as well.
Still getting a head count for the party. So, for anyone interested, pipe up!

Sorry for the confusion,it is still on the 25th as outlined elsewhere in this thread. Paul said he will be out of town and won't be back until three days before the ride. Heck, that's 72 hrs, plenty of time!

John day/ fossil is an amazing ride. There are some really high winds out there as you approach the gorge though. By the way... hello from joensuu, finland! I'm in our dressing room waiting to play our slot. Check out the webpage if you want to see what this festival is all about (www.ilosaarirock.fi). We played moscow and st petersburg, which was amazing. Didn't see a single old russian bike, but we took an overnight train from moscow that must've been stalin-era. Just getting over jetlag in time to fly back home! See you all soon...
