Anybody ever sell a bike at the Mid-Ohio show?
« on: July 08, 2009, 09:25:17 PM »
I'm thinking of bringing a couple there, what's the scoop as to how it works? I have never been there and am totally naive to the process/experience that it will be. Also, any insights on what sort of prices you can expect to bring vs. Ebay? Thanks

What are you selling?
No matter how fast or how far I rode, I couldn't leave her memory behind.

Who knows? My Black Bomber? Possibly my Suzuki if I get it running in time? Maybe my 750 K0?

I had my silver and black 78 cb750F cafe bike there last year to ride around on. I just rode around the swap meet on it and everywhere I parked it someone asked me if it was for sale. It was not but I learned that if you do not have a vendor space in the swap meet already the best wasy to sell it is to ride it around with a for sale sign on it with your phone number and a price.

you could also enter it in the auction but I am fuzzy on those details. best to contact the AMA directly.

I have sold a few bikes at Mid Ohio event.  No problem, it's between you and the buyer.

But, remember, "In god we trust, all others, pay cash!"

Guard your title and keys...........+1 on the cash.........If you have multiple bikes, its best to have a swap space.  I may have room for a bike or two but my brother-in-law will ask for a small fee.  Look us up at D-1 & 2 right next to the food stand. Otherwise, park you bikes in a camp spot or along the roadway. If they run, ride one into the infiled and park near the auction barn or the VJMC booth.  If your serious, pre-register with the Auction for a program listing.  If you have an Ohio title, be sure to have a notary handy.

I have sold a dozen or more bikes.........each year seems to be different.  Some years there are 4-cyclinder buyers for export......at reasonable prices.  Some years there are buyers for certain models and other years everyone shows with that model and there are no buyers.  Thursday and Friday AM usually have a lot of real deals and trades between vendors.........then the public shows and its a new arena.
