Anybody know anything about RD125's ?
« on: July 10, 2009, 10:50:08 PM »
I have found an early RD125 f/s locally. It has only about 1000 miles on it. The guy is asking $1200. The condition is near perfect, except for a ding in the tank. I really don't know much about these bikes, but I have a two stroke itch to scratch. I really can't find much information about these on the net. Anyone have a clue where to look, or anyone ever owned one of these. I have also found a RD350 in about 3-4 outta 10 condition for much less, but would like to be riding a smoker sooner than later. Does the 125 have enough zip for around town bombing, are there any performance upgrade options? Thanks for any insight.

15+hp at 250 or so lbs. It'll get yoiu around town. Faster than a cb160.
No.

Is it a single or a twin?

It's a twin, can't remember the exact year, but I think it is a 75-76?

In that case its a screamer and as long as the oil tank is kept full they are, normally, pretty reliable and fun
