cb550 carb settings

just rebuilt a 75 cb550. tore apart carbs and rebuilt with new carb kit.  (needle/jets/ the lot)


was wondering what the mixture screws should be set at.   it has a slight back fire from the #1 cyl.

1 turn out is stock.  Fine tune from there....

Stock settings for all the 550 carbs can be found in the Carb FAQ.
They are the stock settings and assume the stock air filter and exhaust for the bike/model is still being used.
Otherwise, they are adjust to where the bike works the best.

Book value is 1 1/2 turn out from lightly seated.
