I just signed up here a few weeks ago, and have already found the answers to alot of questions by searching around. After a long wait, I just got my first SOHC4, a '76 CB 750. We just put the motor back in last week, and I'm currently stuck on the wiring.
I don't have much skill in the electricity area, but have been doing a ton of reading, lately. It's starting to make more sense.....slowly. I printed out a full color wiring schematic for my bike, and picked up a copy of a simplified wiring setup from King's custom cycle. Now I just need to figure out how to set it up
I picked this bike up for $500, and the electricity is proving to be the biggest problem area for me so far. I believe the starter button/on off switch assembly is from a different bike, and it doesn't matter anyway because it's missing the starter button & the guts inside. Actually both of the switches that came with it have been gutted of parts, and wires have been cut off.
I would like to go with a bare bones setup (don't even need the electric starter). I would also like to run an on/off dimmer switch seperately for my head light. Can anyone recommend a place to find some cheap switches?? and/or provide some pics of their simplified electrics setup? A pic is worth a thousand words.
