i had read the rodriguez brothers were quite remarkable drivers; this reminds me of a desire of mine to further my knowledge of racing history- targa florio, endurance racing of all kinds, can am, and f1. i'm a huge admirer of sir jackie. when he was an up and coming, racing deaths were pretty much commonplace. with his hero and friend jimmy clark dying in '68 and his (jackie) 'shunt' where he ended up chest deep in fuel after a crash, i think that clinched it for him. i think he managed a strike of sorts by the drivers, or a threat of one, which was unheard of then. drivers were considered meat.
