Fork seals are no biggie, but you will need some help to replace them.
Nice bike for 1400, very original for it's 30 years. :)
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

If you decide to swap out the pipes and are going to sell the old ones, may I call dibs?

Really nice bike though, wish mine looked half as good when I got it. I would give it a good cleaning and leave the rest, as others said, too nice to cafe.

Edit: The two covers on the left are really easy to remove for cleaning and polishing, and the cover over the points on the right is really easy as well. Only really tough part to polish are the cooling fins and the clutch cover.

Only pipes I can find are made by Mac... the 4 into 1, but honestly, if yours are in nice condition, I wouldn't even consider swapping out for macs....

as far as turn signals go.. there is a LOT of crap out there.. you guys have any suggestions?

My exhaust works good, but the chrome is all pitted. Aside from MAC,
are there any other's? I like Johnnys in his pic on page one of this
thread Short and sweet. I bet they sound great too.

very clean bike, I hope you decide to keep it as stock as possible.
make sure that whatever you do is reversible.

I agree with the others, ride that for a while and if you decide to customize a bike find a good project on the side.

congrats on a good find, like I said it will be much more valuable as close to stock as possible. or if you decide to mod it make sure they are worth their while.
Chuck dont need oil. Engines run cause they are afraid of chuck! ;D

FYI  A set of spoked wheels of a 80-82 standard will bolt right on.

thank you.. I was very curious about what parts form other bikes are swappable. I wonder what a set of those spoked wheels would sell for?
Also, Guys, if you happen to know other parts that the 79 CB650 have compatability with, please list them. For instance, the front chrome fender?
Mine is all rusty/pitted.
