Old Triumph

I spotted this bike at a local (Birmingham) Walgreens on Friday and was able to get a few photos.  Especially noteworthy items:
  • Cranked on second kick
  • Forkes appear to be Kawasaki or Suzuki to me
  • Engine supposed to be early 60s Triumph
  • Disk brake was actuated by cable but the caliper might have been hydraulic self contained.  I didn't get a close look, but it had an unusual shape
  • The guy said he had it for a long time and it was on its third incarnation
  • Custom exhaust
I should have gotten some pictures of the left side...

Interesting machine.
Unit construction-single carb TR-6
The front brake looks like a mechanically actuated (not hydraulic) disc brake
which was used on some early dirt trackers.

I notice on yours the spark plug wires aren't coming out from the same location.  Is the one I posted modified?

One you posted has had a magneto fitted and is post 61 as its a unit construction engine, forks could be anything and Honda used a cable disc caliper on the cb200
Semi Geriatric ex-Honda mechanic and MOT tester (UK version of annual inspection). Garage full of "projects" mostly 500/4 from pre 73 (no road tax in UK).

Remember "Its always in the last place you look" COURSE IT IS YOU STOP LOOKIN THEN!

On a stock machine, the plug wires come out of the coils which are
under the front of the tank.
On your pic they come out of the magneto.
That machine could have been a dragster in an earlier life.
