Enough Michael Jackson

MJ was not the only one who passed away or was buried. This is a particularly moving piece from the CBS Sunday Morning program.

What is getting me is every time I turn around, another MJ song is stuck in my head.

The newest results of his autopsy reveal he died from food poisoning. He got that from eating a 10 year old weiner.
Only in America can someone be born a poor black boy and die a rich white girl.

+1  Sick of hearing about Michael Jackson.

Some tabloid stumbled upon my blog about how Michael Jackson is no Elvis and has asked permission to use it.  I've been sick of hearing about MJ.  Link to blog: http://michaelisnotelvis.blogspot.com/

It says a lot about our civilization when a "pop song" icon is revered more than than the people that serve and bleed for us.

Yeah, people's different priorities I suppose. I dunno. Some are really hung up on him and with all the controversy surrounding him, at that. AND around $500million in debt? Whoa!

Bill it is not that people do not care for those who die, it is that we hear about it EVERY day. "It is blah blah blah day and so many people died in iraq yesterday." Almost every day now since 2003. I doubt these people that mourn jackson wake up every morning and say" who cares if people are dying in iraq." They dislike it as much as anyone else but the orders to come home come from the govts that sent people over there to die in the first place and I do not see any real end. I bet the russians are laughing at us right now for being in Afghanistan!

As for mj not being elvis, what is wrong with that? from what I understand, mj has a larger fanbase worldwide than elvis did.
As for him being a freak, at least he was not into scientology. THAT is a group of freaks. As for the molestation stuff, the first case was settled out of court for millions. Funny how AFTER mj dies, the boy who claimed it, comes forward and says it did not happen and that his father told him to point the finger at mj. Yes he looks like a freak but then when was the last time some of you looked at joan rivers?
Bottom line is mj had an influence on millions of people in many countries, much more than farrah did and that god awful charlies angels show! :P

Yes I am tired of it too but also remember, he was a HUGE contributor to charities.
Besides, I dont know about your TV's but mine does have more than 1 station AND I have not lost the remote! ;D

Bill the Demon, I agree with you but I will say that I have the (dis)pleasure of driving the 401 and DVP combination every day and on those very sad days that one of our fallen makes the trip home along the Highway of Heroes I am very moved and proud! I generally hit that timing where as I am headed eastbound the cavalcade is heading westward and then down the DVP. To see all of the people lining the bridges to pay their respects (thousands of them) it truly makes me proud to be Canadian.

I hate to see the site and wish I never have to see it again but atleast people are showing their support in whatever way they can.

Ahh Mr Brew when I said people that bled for us I was using them as an generic I meant all the ones that try and make a difference the cops, that risk all for the people, the Nelson Mandela's, the Martin Luther Kings, the Romeo Dallaire's SAR techs etc, yes MJ made a lot of people happy but did he discover Insulin,
stop Hitler, Stalin. You see what I'm saying? Not that he didn't contribute but that the contribution wasn't that earth shattering and we as a people are not putting that contribution in proper perspective.
Bill the demon.
Ps 78K yes there are a few that do, but I'd be a prouder Canadian if the major media spent less time on MJ and more time on the ones that sacrifice.

My point of posting this link was to show that others have bourne losses and they should not be considered to have not lived becuase they are not famous or rich. I do not care if MJ was stung out on drugs and how his kids were concieved etc, he is dead and RIP.

Bill we should be saying that about EVERY person that dies then, even the ones we do NOT like. For instance, nazi germany, we see them as bad but their people saw them as good. I think you get the idea. Just because we do not like some or just because they did not serve a country, does not make them less off a person.

Now take a look at this list and tell me they do not help people in any way and that they are not important in any way.
