Well, Kinda Broke Out of My Shell
« on: July 13, 2009, 09:43:18 PM »

We were ALL here (except Brenda), Karla, James (the youngman in a wheelchair), Joey (the other youngman that Brenda & I worked with) and myself. Well, the thing is still kinda undecided about James and THEN, his mother came to pick him up. We watched him go. I was starting to feel real resentful of her lack of good judgment and all and was on the verge of having a problem. Suddenly, after they pulled out of the driveway, I thought about us getting out of there AND we (Karla, Joey and myself) loaded up in my Grand Caravan and headed to Fort Smith to our favorite Mexican Food Resturant, had a great meal and as we left, I called my buddy (Eddie) there in Fort Smith and we went over there to see what he'd been up to. Man, he was putting the finishing touches on a Tough Suzuki RE5 that was a metallic orange with black accents! :o 8) That was one AWESOME bike! 8) Although, I am still attracted to the Beautiful Black & Silver 79' (or 80', don't remember) Honda CBX! That CBX just calls my name, only my bank account can't make the connection. ::) >:(  He's got others, but he recently acquired a Honda CL360, that is already pretty nice. :) I left Karla and Joey in the van with the a/c going, 104 outside w/ 113 heat index. :o Hey, Eddie and I were looking at and talking motorcycles (after he express his sadness at Brenda's passing. All in all, it was a nice outing and the only Downer was my remembering Brenda and I were talking about arranging some time just for US, since we really hadn't been completely alone in quite some time and were way past due. Now, the only way to be alone with her is to go to the cemetery and I can't hold her or touch her. :(

Damn, I wanted this to be about us just breaking loose, having a meal out and talking motorcycles and unwinding, not falling back into being down! Sorry bout that. I'll try again. :(

It'll just take some time to heal those wounds.  Those down times will be replaced with warm memories.

You're on the right path, Bill! :)  Just keep spending time with those you love and doing things that you enjoy.  I know that's what Brenda would want you to do.

Thank you, I've been trying to keep it together as much as possible, at least when I'm around folks. My Daughter Karla has been especially strong AND that worries me because (previously), with Brenda's Dad's passing, Karla did fine and broke down about a week or 2 later. Now, this time, Karla was off work longer (about 2 weeks) and that might make the difference, I don't know. She's been like a "Trooper" and I've tried to keep MY feeling from showing, to try to keep her strong. I'm missing her but, I know she is much better off and she's with her Dad (who she NEVER got over dying back in 2005! I know that even as late as this last Father's Day, I saw her all teary eyed and I acted like I didn't notice, so as not to embarrass her.

                              Thanks again, Bill ;)

Bill, my friend Walter lost his wife 3 montha ago. She had been gravely ill with something or other since I met her 20 years ago. He is in sucha bad way nothing can get him over here for a burger. You are a well adjusted man. Stay that way for your Daughter and yourself.

But we were boys, and boys will be boys, and so they will. To us, everything was dangerous, but what of that? Had we not been made to live forever?

I really feel for your friend. I've known of those who've lost their Husband or Wife AND I really thought I knew how they must have felt, and now, I se that I had NO idea! No idea at all! I'm really trying to pull myself together (for the sake of my Daughter) and take care of busines and get the bills paid and such. I got an uplift a few minutes ago from Bost. I was told previously that the youngman that I was working with, Didn't want to come back because of what happened, then I was told that he would be coming back on a limited basis. This would have taken him odd of the Alternate Living Status and that would have, for starters, not only put him at his mother's house for a fair bit of time, it would also have taken around $360 a month out of my Income. Considering that AND the fact that I don't Have my Wife's income either, I have to tell you that I was a bit concerned about making ends meet. Then, today, I found out that, as it stands right now, I will lose him for Tuesday, Saturday And Sunday. I am not supposed to loose the "Alternate Living Status" and that will keep that 360 (or so) in my finances and cut my time by 3 days (and pull SOME of my income, but I can make it up with another Bost client. That's another thing that was bothering me, our my income had dropped some and I wasn't sure about the total effect it would have. First AND FORMOST, I hated loosing Brenda and then I started thinking about trying to make ends meet and what we would have left for us to eat on and do whatever. This  has really thrown me for a loop, but I've started trying to get things together and handle them. Started taking care of my Dad again also. Gonna have to work out a schedule to make sure that everything is covered.  ;)
Thanks for the kind words Bobby.

I'm working on just that and am starting to get some thoughts about motorcycle things (am I looking foraward to getting back to where I can do something with one of my projects) Was over at my Buddy's place looking at his Suzuki RE5's progress and also the Beautiful CBX he has. ;) I would give anything for that CBX. I don't know exactly what it is, but that CBX really catches my eye. 8) And the sound, is incredible. :o 8)

CBX's aren't that great... (I'm lying to make you feel better!)

I love my 78 twin shock.  The "tearing silk" sound it makes when you get past 6000 rpm is just plain addictive.

Regarding Brenda - you've just lost part of your body and soul, it'll take a fair amount of time to recover from that "amputation".

Best wishes,

Trevor

Hey Bill, I just realised that I share a birthday 3rd October although I'm a 57 model. :D
Glad to see bikes entering your thinking again, I get a lot of thinking done while wrenching around my shed......wouldn't mind a hand with a certain CBR400RR I am trying to resurrect. :)
I think the thing I most like about motorcycling is the speed at which my brain must process information at to avoid the numb skulls who are eating pies, playing the ukulele, applying make-up etc in the comfort of their airconditioned armchairs as they make random attempts to kill me!!!!!!!

Yeah, I knew what you were doing, when you sad that, "CBX's aren't that great"! I've said things like that myself and even OFFERING to come and take a certain bike away to remove the MISERY that a person would surely face. ;D As far as being able to get the CBX, it's just wishful thinking. ::) Hope to be able to get my 750A going, so I can remove the sidecar from the 80' 750K and put it on the 750A. Then I can fully utilize that DOHC in the 80' 750! I mean, while it isn't a CBX, the 80' is a pretty decent runner and not bad looking (plus I intend to "change it up a bit" ::) ) It may have to be my "Poor Man's version. :( :D Soon as I get THAT done, I want to get after others (Super Hawk, Jawa 250, More on the 750A and so on). Of course, I'll have to squeeze in some time for taking care of: my Dad, Karla, the 2 youngmen that I work with, the bills, etc, etc........... ::)

Bill,

Did you see the 488 mile 1982 CBX in Charleston, AR?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160347309047&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWAX%3AIT

Jerry

Can't believe I posted this without anything in it! ::)

Yeah Jerry, the guy lives a few miles down the road. I met him through my Buddy in Fort Smith. Nice bike, but my Buddy's is the one I'd like to have. Straight bike, no windshield, no bags or anything like that Just your basic CBX with some nice 6 into 2 pipes. Thanks for posting it though. ;)
