I cleaned up and did a mock assembly of the front and rear axles. I had a darned of a time laying out the rear one as the PO had it backwards!

Front fork caps all refinished.

Along with the front brake cam lever arm and special nut.

Carb intake all refinished. This was nasty when I started, much sanding, polishing, removal of years of lime build up. I worked on this for weeks of and on. I think it came out very good!

The next two are for the switch wires.

The throttle tube and bits cleaned up real nice. I'm going to use a silicon type lube here when I put it all back together.

Doing the actual work and documenting it all seems like doing double duty.

The wheel bearings I ordered came in todays mail. Might as well install them!

First the prep work, remove the bearings for the packaging and chill them down in the freezer for at least 1 hour.

Select a socket that is just a little bit smaller in diameter than the bearing.

Heat the hub to about 175 - 200 deg F in your oven (make sure the wife is not at home or you just might get in trouble!

Sometimes the bearing just drops right in, other times you need to tap it in.

The previous post was the rear sprocket hub, here is the front and rear brake hubs.

Each of these get two bearings, one on each side.

It might help if you were to mention exactly which one you need. There are a number of different ones listed in the Parts List. Which goes by frame number and country sold in. Not the year of the motorcycle.

Just an update to all who were following this thread, I have at last located the correct spokes for both the front and rear wheels and will start up this thread in a few weeks.

When you were searching for parts, how did you know what would fit and what wouldn't when buying the stuff from Asia? I am having a difficult time finding the wiring harness. I have a 69? S90 Frame # S90-478916. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sadly, not yet. I have run into some health issues and work on this project has come to a stop. I hope to be able to move forward by summer (provided my leg heals).

The remaining items are finding another carb body or carb assy and working out any wiring problems.

Best guess? Yes I did order the wrong part a few times (spokes for one). For the wire harness, the one I had was just a bits and pieces and the back of the key switch was missing. What I did was match up the wire harness to fit/match the key switch connector. I do plan on having to perform a little trouble shooting with the wiring however I do have on of those Vintage Connection kits to make it look all good.

Hopefully TomC will chime in and let you know what issues he has run into during his restores.

Thanks, I will post some pictures after I really get started. It is just a bead blasted frame at this point.
