Topic: New CB350F addition to the stable

Well, those of you who knew me from the old days...know of my love of this little stinker of a bike...smooth as a gravy sandwich, and small enough that a lightweight like myself (at 145 lbs) won't get blown away by it. 

I'm talking about the CB350F. 

I just picked up my second one.  Less than 12K miles, and the condition of the frame, chrome, gauges, and controls bear that out. 

Needs a good cleaning.  Real good cleaning.  And carbs (they aren't smooth, the bike runs, but doesn't transition cleanly or smoothly...).  But, the chrome is sweet, almost non-existent pitting, and straight (well, there's one small ding on the front fender).

But only 12K miles and clean seats and chrome?  I think it's worth investing a little TLC and maybe a set of repop pipes from Silver to complete. 

It's a sweetie.

  Thats a sweet looking ride! Some day I'll have to pick one up, I've read a lot of good things about these smaller 4's. The paint looks like it's in great condition. What is wrong with the pipes, they look pretty good to me? Any how, congrats on the addition!

That's a set of MCM pipes I picked up in '97 when I took over my other 350F and started that resto process...this one had nothing, so, I moved them over just to fire her up and take her around the block a couple of times...  This one came with a 4-to-1 BSM replacement (anyone want it?  Yours for $50. plus the shipping...I'll put up pictures....) that I ripped off...not a fan of the single tail pipe and bowl of spaghetti from the exhaust ports; I talked to the folks at Silver and some other folks and their repops of the original pipes are pretty sweet from all I've heard (and I have a UPS shipping number that gives me about a 25% break on overseas shipping...do a lot of business on the side restoring classic Lotus cars, so...do a lot of business in the UK...  Yeah, the paint has a couple of chips in the tank; the side covers are cherry, though, as are the fork covers...what I'm thinking is to build up one 'excellent' bike from the best parts of both, and a second runner from what's left over.  Do it all the time with the cars, so...as long as everything is disclosed up front...

It runs ok, need to flow some seafoam through the fuel system and clean out the system...fresh oil and filter, plugs, etc.  Rubber's only a few years old...no cracks, etc.  I'm figuring a long Saturday on clean up and work...and she'll be turning heads at the stoplight grand-prix that evening.
