« on: May 03, 2011, 12:53:52 PM »
 >:(
Ive been beating this board & google for the last 2 hrs attempting to see if anybody makes or even knows of anyone that makes a Tach block off plug for a CB500/550 K...... Ive seen them for 750's, yet a no go on the 500's...

Any ideas... Any one have a milling machine at there disposal.?

Thanks

I made one for my 750 so I could soda blast the engine while on an engine stand.  What do you want it for?

I can fill the hole with aluminum and an o-ring that the cross-screw will hold in place.  I'm not doing decoration work though.

I haven't seen what is available from other sources, got a picture?

is there thay much difference between the tach holes between the 750 and other bikes? besides ratios i would assume they all would use a similiar cable.

I never checked, I'll try the plug on my 550 ('77).  Do they have different tach drive ratios?  My tach and speedo don't match on the 550 and I'd like to substitute some 750 units.

Are you getting rid of the tacho?
I just cut of the end of the tachowire (the little alu piece). Then i just found a bolt that was slightly bigger than the hole, and just screwed it in. Cheapest way to do it ;-)

They are all the same, fit speedo drive holes as well. I made a bunch a while back (without a milling machine), still got some kicking around.
