Topic: Lacing 18" harley wheel with 18" honda hub and spokes

So, in a moment of impulse buying I purchased a Landmark chrome wheel.  Its 18" x 4.25" and is 40 spoke.  I was wondering if I could use the 18" spokes off of my stock wheel with the stock hub to lace up this new wheel, or does the additional width require custom spokes?  I'm assuming that new spokes would be in order, but I'm not really aware of how much "play" there is in the length (maybe it would accomodate the extra width?).


I paid $36 for the rim, shipping kinda kills it though at $20.

Is the HD wheel a drop center? If so your spokes will be too long. Also check the nipple holes, they may be too big or small for your spoke nipples.

+1 on what he said...
 unless it was a front drum rim,  the spoke holes may be angled a bit different too...is it a steel rim or aluminum?

Thanks for the replies.  Here is the item on ebay.  Not much description other than harley 18" 40 spoke.
