Head Work
« on: November 15, 2005, 12:26:24 AM »
When I take my head in, what all should I have done. I'm looking at a port and polish and shaving the cylinder block and head. What about valve seats and cam surfaces? Also, how much should I expect to pay for this?

PM Mike Rieck mate, his SOHC4 handle is MRieck, he's done a head for me and one for Sean Condon, brilliant work and a very fair price! Cheers, Terry. ;D
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

"Crazy is a very misunderstood term, it's a fine line that some of us can lean over and still keep our balance" (thanks RB550Four)

I'll second that, Terry. Definitely a plus having the work done by Mike who knows and rides these old Honda's.
One thing I'd add to the list is to helicoil the cam tower bolt holes in the head. Even the ones that look good, as the threads become very weak and break/strip veeeeerrrrryy easily.
Give me..a frame to build a bike on, and my imagination will build upon that frame
