Saw you on the news last night! That was pretty long for a "man on the street" type interview. I bet the reporter was overjoyed to have found someone who was not only intelligent but articulate as well, and actually knew something about the subject at hand.
You and the HMS1 were looking good!
I recorded the news broadcast on the DVR, so I'll see if I can at least get a decent video recording of it playing on the TV and post it here. That will have to wait until this evening, though.
Thanks, Gordon!
I don't have any recorders other than a conventional VHS tape. My wife recorded it so I could watch it: they actually named me on it! That was strange...now, I'm 1/2 of Rich & Famous (the wrong half...

)
If you have the capability, please do post it for those who wish to see it: I wish I'd had the rest of the cosmetic parts on the bike when I went. It was sans airbox and side covers, no tank stripes or emblems, yet (did those last night!). It sports a DonDirtBiker Candy Gold, pretty in the sun! I was just trying to get to the DMV before they closed.
The SOHC4 was actually named on TV, how cool!
The whole deal was over the outrageous fees that Colorado implemented this month: the State has posted cops in the DMV offices because people are going ballistic over it all. It goes like this:
Prior to this year, it would have cost $12 Registration + $10 misc. fees + $3 Title Fee + $18 Sales Tax + $20 VIN Inspect = $63 to retitle this bike (not including the International Title Services fee of $85 to get it started).
Starting July 1:
Expired plate: $ 100 penalty
Registration: $ 12
New "Road Fee" $ 41
VIN Inspection $ 20
Sales taxes: $ 18+ (original bike was $200, in pieces)
Title Fee: $ 3
Total: $ 194+
(plus the International Title Service Fee of $85).
It appears to me, the government is trying to force everyone into new vehicles and stop the resurrection of older ones back onto the road. As for me and my rides, it will be old ones forever: the license fees on a new $12,000 bike in Colorado cost more than all 3 of my cars' purchase prices, plus my CB750K2, added together!
