A couple of Jet question (yes pertains to SOHC CB750)
« on: February 12, 2011, 10:45:09 PM »
Hey Folks; Is the parts No#3G2-14231-31-00, REF# 6 that is listed here,  http://www.mrcycles.com/fiche_section_detail.asp?section=2292&category=Motorcycles&make=YAMAHA&year=1983&fveh=63   for a SECA Turbo bike the same thing (as far as parts go) as the Main jet on our bikes? If so would it's size of #155 (or is that actually the size?) be close to rich enough to run on a Seca 650 turbo to  CB750 swap? I think you can see what I'm doing here. I recently aquired a 1982 Yamaha SECA 650 turbo bike. My plans are to swap the Turbo set-up from the Yam. over to one of my SOHC 750 engines ;D ! I'm curious because doing research, it seems that the common size on N/A SOHC 750 bikes are running anywhere between 105 and 135. So I'm figuring that 155 on the Seca Turbo carbs might be around the right size since you're pushing more air in, therefore you need more fuel.   Or at least a good starting point?  Thanks,   ...cougar...

Not something that can be guessed. Too many different variables.

If you are just moving the entire thing over (I couldn't really tell), i.e. carbs and turbo and filtration, etc., should be damn close.
Otherwise all bets are off.

The seca turbo a draw through system? Haven't looked at one.
No.

Hey mlinder; Yes I do plan on switching everything over to the Honda. I will probably use a cb750 exhaust because I believe it's head pipes are larger than the SECA head pipes, but other than that I plan on using the complete induction system from the SECA. By the way the SECA uses a blow-through system. I've got to do some more research to find out what the hole size of the jets are.
