I went with the yoshi replica, from motoGPweks, and I have to say if you plan on using it on an "F" you will have to get rid of the extra cooler behind the oil filter. I shaved parts of the fins off and it still didn't fit right. Someone also said somewhere that you needed to remove the exhaust to change the oil filter but without that extra oil cooler I think you might be able to do it without pulling the exhaust off.

Very good to know.  I have decided to go with the Yoshi replica so that is important, and I had kind of expected that.  Would there be enough room for an external oil cooler setup and a spin on filter?  Like the one that Cycle-X has?  If I am eliminating the factory "cooler" I wouldn't argue with the addition of an additional one.  I just moved to Texas and am building my engine into an 836.  So you know, kind of thinking some additional cooling is by no means a bad idea.

I looked at going with the Cycle X spin on and cooler and to me it looks like you'd be back at the same point with the stock thingy in there. The problem is #2 pipe, this is where all the issues are and if you look at the Cycle X pipes that one is way out of the way. As for the extra cooling, I wouldn't think it would be a bad idea, but with the yoshi I just don't think it's possible to do it there. I did have the crazy idea on mine of creating something in between the oil tank and motor but I'm not fond of that idea. There are two oil caps on the bottom of the motor, maybe running something off of those?

I think Terry makes coolers and he may have something up his sleeve.

I am also deciding between the Yosh and Cyclex. I want to believe in the Cyclex but cant find any videos of it on a bike. The Yosh sounds mean! I told Ken on the phone the other night that he needs to post some videos of the exhaust! He said he was planning a flow/dyno comparison for all brands, yosh replica and his 4-2-1. Should be pretty interesting.

I would be really interested in the results. Not that it would make me buy a new exhaust, because I already own the yosh replica. I'm just curious!

Ken claims the collector on those yosh pipes made to Carpys specs can vastly be improved on but thats what they all say. IDK. I just want a figgin video of them on a bike!

Well i have seen a lot of 4into1 pipes in my day and there are a lot more to them than just a collector, the header lengths have more to do with power delivery than the collector. I just got my Yoshi from Chris { remember that Chris is an engineer and worked for Yoshi}, and it is a 2 piece one with springs to hold it together, with the rear removed you are looking directly into the collector and it is unrestricted and will flow well, it looks not different to the original Yoshi i had on my 900 Boldor, the bends in the header are a little different but the collector is almost identical......Splitting hairs i suspect..... ;) Ken says everything he has is the best so why then is he upgrading everything.? Quote from his site..." Home of the Worlds most powerful Exhaust Systems!"  I highly doubt it..... ;)

I think Chris said wasn't all that keen on the pipe that he made for Carpy Mick, so he's making his own "take" on what a Yoshimura pipe should be like.

I'll be happy if he makes one that "fits" around the engine a little better than the one's he did for Carpy, he's said that the new ones will, and if they do, I'll buy one. Cheers, Terry. ;D

Yep, there are many ways to skin a cat mate, you could go with one of my remote oil filter/cooler combo's, something I'm playing with at the moment. Check TinTop's build thread for pics of my remote oil filter, and imagine a cooler plumbed in there as well, and you're there. ;D

I'm redoing a 1975 750F. I chose the Yoshi replica from Yamiya Japan.  Nothing looks better than the Yoshi pipe, right?

Yamiya = NO INTERFERENCE PROBLEM with the rear master cylinder holder.  The back of the exhaust does not turn up like Carpy's and Motoworks GP's.  The installation took five minutes.

$499 + $130 for shipping on eBay.  Yes, shipping is high but the pipe fits with no mods required.  Here's the eBay link:

Those Yamiya pipes have the early Yoshi style header pipes but have a butt ugly welded up tail section, nothing like the original...

Check out my stock header with a stainless muffler, post 108 of this thread. One of the best sounding I've heard. I've gotta post a you tube video of it so I can show off the sound.

Between wanting one of Chris's next design, one of his custom ones also, one or two from Cycle X, and a Yoshi from Yamiya, along with an original Yoshi from somewhere, I'll be knee deep in pipes but no bikes!  ;D ;D ;D

Just wanted to remind folks watching this thread that a group buy of Total-Seal rings for the original OEM pistons is underway at this thread. I plan to put in the order next week.

Please come over and express your opinion; we are voting to determine if the rings will be chromed and/or have a napier step on the 2nd ring to reduce oil consumption.
