Oh, I intend to.  I kinda like these F's (not really sure why everyone else doesn't) oh well their loss.  It will be getting new paint this winter along with some engine work to fix the few small case seam leaks that it has.

I love my F2, people just never believe me about them.  When I say I own a CB750 and am having a hard time finding parts for it I constantly get strange looks.  Then I have to explain that I own a 77 CB750F.  And the F2/F3 were only made those 2 years, in limited numbers(does anyone have actual production numbers?) and a lot of parts are just different.

About to pull my bike in the garage and get back to work on it.  This move to Texas really screwed me up.

Here's my F3. I put clubmans on it, but took them off after about 2 weeks. I put a little ding in my tank with them and got mad so they had to go.

I went back to the drag bars that came on it.

WOW!  Nice F.  Where did you get the fairing?   Did you need custom brackets to make it all work?   Outstanding bike.

I have one of those fairings. I think they are called Viper fairings. They are universal, and come with mounting hardware. I got a scuffed up one for free without hardware, but was able to find the mounting hardware by itself on ebay. You can find them all over the place and you can probably get one for about $70 or so.

Thanks. The fairing was on it when I bought it. The brackets are pretty simple, but they were also already on it. You can see the two bolts just in front of the front signals that hold it on. That's all it is (4 bolts total). I may need to put a brace on it somewhere because when I meet traffic at about 80mph it shakes a bit. I may be taking the fairing off to adjust the headlight soon. If I do, I'll take some pics of the bracket. I have seen them for sale a few places (even craigslist), so I don't think it would be hard to find one. I almost left mine off when I had it off recently, but I don't like how big the gauges look without it.

Hey Bender,

No I'm not the one who painted the engine black.  I'm gonna have to guess the PO that probably blew up the first engine wanted the F0 engine to look like the other one.  Only bad part is they did a horrible job painting it, and then the last PO let the carbs bowls leak all over it so now all the paint is peeling off.  Oh well, right now I'm just gonna ride it the way it is, and then come winter I'm gonna take it a part and fix the dent in the fuel tank, and paint it.  Also I'm probably gonna split the cases to fix the seam leaks too.

I should have bought the one that was on my local craigslist a few months ago. It was only $25. I just didn't know what I'd do with it. I wasn't on this forum at the time. Too bad. I got a little disturbed the other day when someone asked me if I was trying to be like "the Sons of Anarchy" with my fairing. I didn't know what they were talking about (I don't have cable), so I looked it up. Sorry if any of you like the show, but it looked kinda stupid to me. I like to think of the fairing as more of a "Road Warrior" fairing. ;D

Radam,

Try some of that Rustoleum BBQ paint on your headers.  I use it on my four wheel toy sidepipes and works great. I spray them and then take some 0000 steel wool and shine them up like powder coat.

I come from "Road Warrior Land", wher those fairings were always referred to as "Stone" fairings (named after another great corny Aussie biker movie called "Stone") but the truth is they're all vague copies of the famous BMW R90S "Bikini" fairing.

Oh, and I like "Son's of Anarchy", it took me awhile to get into it, but having had some exposure to "One percenter" motorcycle clubs in my early days, it's not all that far from the truth. Cheers, Terry. ;D

Cobra, I've got some of that paint, I just haven't taken the time to paint it yet. I think I'm gonna paint the chrome on it too.
Freaky1, too true.
Terry, thanks for the history lesson. I'll look up "Stone" too. I think this is about the hardest motorcycle group I'll be a part of. I may be moving to Oz around October. Not sure where the wife is gonna get a job after she finishes her PHD, but New Zealand and Australia are our first two options. Do you think it would be worth the money/adventure to ride my bike from Arkansas to California and ship it over there, or just sell it and buy another when I get there? I've been wondering that for a while.

G'Day Mate, well, if you move to Melbourne, I'll loan you my "Stone" DVD, ha ha! CB750 K bikes sell here for anything from 2000 bucks for a rough, but complete "runner", to around 6000 bucks for a really good "ready to ride" bike. F's are usually a fair bit cheaper, but thinner on the ground. (weren't that popular here) Later model bikes (Suzuki GSXR's, Yamaha FZR's, etc) are cheap and plentiful, so I guess it depends on what you want to ride. Let me know if you decide on Oz, New Zealand's beautiful too, just stay away from tall buildings...........  :o

If we move to Aus we'll probably be in a suburb of Melbourne. My wife will be working at a uni somewhere there if we go there. I may be asking you for help finding work if that's where we go. ;) I'm going to try to keep my bike because I like it a lot. The wife is actually pretty stoked about the Arkansas to Cali trip. Someone on here had told me it would be a lot cheaper to ship that way. I'll try to stay out of apartment buildings if we move to NZ. Maybe just rent a house. ;D I think if we go there we'll be in either Nelson or Christchurch. We rented a camper van and drove around the south island the summer before last. It is beautiful!

Half my family are Kiwi's Radam and half of them are moving here to Australia for work. If you really want to work and get paid well Australia is far better than NZ. We looked at moving there a while back as we go there every couple of years for holidays and my wife's parents live there as well, beautiful place to visit and the Aussie dollar is 20-25% stronger than the Kiwi peso... ;D so holidays are cheap but work is hard to find and wages are terrible by comparison. We have a bigger Kiwi population than NZ, that has to tell you something..... ;)  Good luck on the move mate...

Yeah mate, no worries, shipping "port to port" is much cheaper, I had my K0 air freighted to Oz from NY, but that was very expensive, compared to sea freight. I don't know what sort of work you're after, but I work for a big defence contractor that's always hiring, so let me know if you decide on Melbourne, and I'll send you some "want ads". Cheers, Terry.  ;D

Thanks for the info guys. It's all up to where the lady gets a job. She'll be getting her PHD in organic chemistry in September. I, on the other hand, do not have a PHD so we'll be going wherever she gets a job. ;D We are looking at Australia more because she'll make twice as much money there. Then there's the job in Spain... ::) I have no clue where we'll be come October, but it won't be here in the states.

Looks like we'll be shipping our mascot Godzilla to OZ via AirRadam and you will be our first multi-continental rider!! We will have multi-country riders and cross-continental riders but no multi-continental riders at that point.

And when Godzilla gets to OZ there will be a new rule instituted called the Terry Rule - Godzilla can only be transported by a SOHC F model.  ;D   ;)

Trying to determine sprocket offset with my 77 750F.  While searching the forum for notes about offset sprockets, I found a few folks mentioning that the 77/78 F bikes run a different offset in their sprockets than the K bikes.  Can anyone confirm this?

I am looking to replace both my sprockets and my chain in the near future.  Master link broke off the chain a few months back, I was able to repair it but want to replace the chain entirely.  33,000 miles on the sprockets makes me think I want to replace them all and let them wear together.  Not have my sprockets pre-maturely wear a new chain.  Figured I may as well put on offset sprockets for any future swing-arm/tire changes I may want to make.
