750F thread?

I would love to see a thread fro the 750 super sport. I love the K bikes dont get me wrong.... but I would love to see what all people have done with their Fs. Is there already one out there?

Good idea! Good place to discuss things specific to the F bike. Here is my bike. I hope to finish it this winter. Plans are to modify the rear of the frame to match the tail. Powder coat the frame. Rims are being curently powder coated. New tank with knee dents and a rebuild of the top end. The i think i can call it finished. oh and i have a mac exhaust and a hondaman ign. waiting to go on too.

I love what you have done with your bike ffjmoore I saw your build thread a while back. that action shot is great as well!

I plan on keeping mine pretty stock for now... In the future i want to have the paint job redone, original details just in matt paint. then custom pipes from benji...a few other small things... bar ends and so on.

the bike came with 130 mains in it from the PO, with the stock air filter.
I havent really got the bike up to speed yet so i cant attest to the configuration, however in the research that I have done on this site it seems  like people in the 125 to 130 main range are doing fine with pods.

Here's my '77 F. I've owned it since 82. It's got about 11k miles on it. I rode it a fair amount as a toy the first few years when I got it, then it got neglected when my daughter was born. It sat outside tarped for a few years and it was pretty much ready for the junkyard. In '99 my wife told me to get rid of it, but I couldn't, so I resto'd it. I tore it down to the frame, blasted and powdercoated the frame, and built it back from the ground up. It has been ridden on and off since '99, sat in a garage for a few years on and off.

This year my son (11) got interested in riding on it with me, so it's getting a lot of use. Did a bunch of things to freshen it up this year, some new chrome bit replacements, new stainless brake lines, new side covers, new handlebars, new helmets with intercoms for me and my son.

Teaching my son how to wrench, and told him someday I'll leave the F to him in my will  ;D Maybe when he's 16 or 17 we'll get him an SOHC4 of his own to ride with me.

Heres my new purchase. 1978 750F. I havent taken ownership yet . I bought it off e-bay in northern VT. My Dad is currently storing it . It has 27k on the clock. It needs a tune up but runs. I have tons of questions but since its not in my hands yet I will wait. NOT. Where is the idle adjustment screw!!  Im not kidding. First pic is the e-bay shot. Last two are from last week.

bike looks real clean!!
the idle adjustment screw is attached to the motor side of the carbs on the right side if you are sitting on the bike.

Its getting a headlight make over as we speak with a triumph headlight switch. Its been a great project and kept me busy over the winter.

That's a nice looking bike. Not a huge cafe fan myself, but that all black look makes it work very nicely. Even the header wrap fits in well with the theme.

The future of my bike is still uncertain..... it has been saved from the auction block for the time being.

I bought my 78 F just a few weeks ago. It's not near rideable yet. Need to sort out the front brakes, some wiring, new chain, new tires, and a title. I swapped out the exhaust with an open 4-1 header (not sure what kind), plan to have some sort of high mount with a canister like the t rex 750s have and turn it into a post classic cafe racer road race type bike. http://www.ozebook.com/cr750_files/trex.htm  I picked up some sort of custom guiliari seat for it, looks pretty good but will probably need a different tank to match the shape and height of the tail. Gonna be a big project to turn it into what I want but should be worth it when I get out on the road and ride it for the first time.

And hey, cafe2be I love the way a bike looks with that empty triangle in the frame. I know the electronics and battery are probably relocated to under the seat bubble but what did you do about the oil tank?
