My comments: they do seem to fit properly...does have access to oil filter... & from meory, the drain plug is accessible. Chrome quality really good. Searching on web - they seem to use a certain ammount of S/S parts, but don't think the whole system is. I think CB750F1 cost is around £250 to £300??

Who's going to take their F to the Corbin plant for manufacture of their Gunfighter seat? They'll keep it for a while and you can leave with a loaner. See the other thread.

Just doing some finishing touches to polished aluminium tappet cover and tranny side cover & chain guard...
Any suggestions as to how to seal the aluminium surface to stop it going dull?

Owned this '78 cb750f for about 6years. I only put about 1000miles on it a summer.
New top end all broke in and looking to do a new seat,
I want to use an old tank section so that the tank and the bump match.
Just gotta figure out how to put it together.  I might weld it to another seat pan I have.

I do have some small oil seepage at the head gasket by #1cylinder.  Not to bad but kinda dissapointing.

New spitfires. Brake pads. fluids. And polish.  Stock exhaust is sliced off and I drove a 3/4" stake thru it.  Also rejetted from stock 105 to 115. Synched and waiting for some dry weather(no front fender). I love this bike!!!!!

Yeah I second that, Alan F makes aluminum side covers and needed measurements for a F. I am going to do the measurements, but if you made yours made you could share your measurements with Alan F.

Thanks Gents, I actually spent an afternoon with Mick750F a little while back and I'm developing both a left and a right side cover that flow with the lines of the bike the same way the stock covers do, stay tuned.

   Hey Alan...I don't remember if we discussed it but the left side covers for the F0/F1 are different than the F2/F3 as far as mounting goes...rights are the same. You should probably check out an early F to get the mounting right.

Vlada: First, welcome and I wouldn't doubt if someone here can help you.

This is a SOHC4 forum and the SOHC models stopped in 1978. YOur 1982 is a Dual OVerhead Cam DOHC model.

It does look to me like a CB750F of the DOHC variety. However its had some add on parts like the fairing and the exhaust pipe which are not factory items.  But I'm no expert.

There is another forum here called "other bikes" and you might get some help there.

There is another site altogether for the DOHC models but I don't have the address.

WELL, I ran across a very sad F2, no title(no worries), and in need of some serious love and attention.
heading out to pick it up int he am.  20k mi @ $500.

Need some tip / advice on the top 5 things i need to check on this bike before loading it.
The top 5 items that if buggered/broken/missing...etc, will cause me the most headaches/$/time. this one is close enough to stock, that i will fix it up stock. PO says it turns over.

rAISE MY SUSPICIONS:

Behind the sprocket cover is the case broken and patched with goo?
Is the rear tire bald, clue of abuse,
does it have oil and or gas in it? clue it may have been run dry,
others?

" no title but that isn't a problem with the Internet title companies that are out there. Run the VIN with the Washington State Patrol if you want to verify there is no problem: CB750F-2104037"   Everybody is aware of the "INTERNET" title companies....but nobody uses them before the sell the bike... 

He's in Seattle, you're in Snohomish... not too far away...   I saw it as well... but I have 3 750's cryin for attention already...  ;D    If you have him down to $500.00.... that doesn't seem bad... 
dual front brake... hmmmmmmmm   ;D  if you want to part it out....I'd take the front end off your hands...

My bikes now running! But the clutch is stuck - bit more work to do before MOT...I was going to post a video for sound of my Motad 4-1 (somebody wanted hear what it was like??), but it seems I can't? Anyway it won't prove much as the exhaust is very quiet. Idling a bit rough  - maybe still a bit cold but more likely carb synchronisation.

The factory finish is a clear lacquer coating. Over time this yellows and comes off in bits. Once this is removed to up-polish the part, you have the choice to go naked or re-spray a clear lacquer. many such products at auto and finish stores.

Unless you expect the bike will be in harsh environment with little chance for attention, I prefer to go naked and not deal with the lacquer degrading again as it will over time. Just repolish the covers occasionally with semichrome or such.

My personal prefrence, I'm sure some here prefer to spray some clear.
